Oddly enough, ESPN says 10 wins** gives us an over 85% chance to make playoffs because of how the tiebreakers fall out. We get Houston next (after 11 days rest). The Denver at home, WITHOUT Kelemete. Sounds funny, but this game isn’t a must-win.
** – 10 wins, 10-7, doesn’t “feel” like enough but the extra playoff team this year evidently changes the math significantly. We’re almost at 50% playoffs now lol, 7 of 16 teams in each conference.

We need to control possession of the ball. Run the ball well, create turnovers, and chew time off the clock. We can’t let Mahomes on the field.

1) Point should be obvious re Mahomes, who YOU brought up. Running quarterbacks get hurt. ALL running quarterbacks get hurt. Reid is on record chastising Mahomes for running too much. There’s just too much chance of injury.
Cool as it was to watch, Herby probably even got criticized for tackling that guy the other day. He’s too valuable for that.

Partner, let me explain why I want to establish beforehand whether our team is at a disadvantage. It’s mostly the media. I think we’ve got the best QB in the nfl. But, if we’re short guys, especially OLine or Herby’s targets, he can look bad when it’s not his fault. The media will go, “look, Mahomes outplayed Herbert!”, regardless. Just pisses me off. They don’t take into account his blocking at all. I want people, especially our fans, to recognize when it’s not a level playing field.
The sports media is star-driven. It’s intentional, it’s even a policy Madden developers have to adhere to. They know OLine is critical, they just choose not to keep the public informed because it doesn’t sell jerseys and other merchandise etc. kinda sucks imo.

I don’t understand your point re:complacency. I’m not playing. I’m just analyzing the playoff picture, same as analyzing the game. It is what it is – we can lose this game and still be fine.
There’s also a vocal minority of online posters who object to any opinion about losing. I’m guessing you’re one. Trigger warning here – we’re liable to lose this game. Recognizing that doesn’t mean I want us to lose, and it f’cking well doesn’t mean I’m a bloody Chiefs fan. It just means (probably) I’m either better at evaluating relevant factors, or I’m more honest about it. (And by “honest”, I mean more willing to face the likelihood I’m going to be miserable watching the game tonight.) Edit: or I’m just wrong! lol.. which would be great.
Look – we can beat the Chiefs. But we still have a lot of holes in the roster, and we’re beat up. We can still win, but it’ll be tough (and amazing if we do). Just stock up on beer in case it goes pear shaped.

I remember being so excited for this game , then we dropped three TD’s in the opening drive , Staley made terrible decisions took 12 points off the board , Kelley fumbled on the 1 just terrible luckily Nwasou intercepted Mahomes next play ! We lost Derwin to a hamstring injury and lost in overtime! And Parham got hurt ! Bizarre game !
