Only six plays for Mykal Walker and he gets a pick six. Dean Pees has to find a way to get him on the field. Put him on George Kittle with those long arms. Plus he can rush the passer. Why is no playing Steven Means out there? It’s preplexing..

@WrldWchr I agree, but Mykal Walker is very athletic and i think on occasion he could help out in rushing the passer. Means is smart and the coaching staff feels he’s never out of position. But since his tenure with the Falcons he rarely impacts the game.
@Samuel Davis I agree that athleticism can overcome aspects of both the positions BUT… THEY TRULY ARE DIFFERENT POSITIONS.

AN ILB had effectively shed blocks, read keys and zoom in and attack the running backs etc at the line of scrimmage. An OLB has to read keys BUT is simply asked to set the edge/contain and don’t let a runner get behind him WHILE looking for the pass and if so, attacking the passer.i.e, pass rush.
Someone could be good at both but why bother… You could have someone great at OLB and then someone great at ILB.
@WrldWchr You nailed it. I don’t disagree with you at all. However Dion Jones and Oluokun are starting—that leaves Mykal Walker on the bench as backup. Steven Means is on the edge who rarely makes a play. The coaching staff wants to play Walker. I’m saying to you how do they get Walker in the game? If this was a 4/3 it wouldn’t be a problem.

@Samuel Davis is thinking there might be a way but it might leave a different weakness. I was thinking maybe they put our Debo on their Deebo, since he leads the league in YAC… and then have Mykal Walker play the traditional ILB role

Dion Jones should be the odd man out. He will get paid somewhere else. Mykal Walker is still under his rookie deal. If it doesn’t hurt the books to part ways with Deebo, this will probably happen.
