Definitely wouldnt be wise to overpay and chase guys like McKenzie and levi wallace. Also im not sure why everyone is so content with Devin Singletary. He doesnt win his one on one matchups enough, cant pass protect that well, doesn’t have the wheels to turn the corner and go to the house, and his pass catching is pedestrian. Are we just gunna neglect this and overpay him to stay on the team when his contract comes up ? How about jerry Hughes, hes been overpaid since Kyle williams helped him achieve all those sacks like a decade ago. Trent murphy , vernon butler, star, kelvin benjamin etc..those were all bad contacts. We overlook the errors because overall weve been trending in the right direction, but thats not the way to get it right. You cant ignore issues like not getting another cornerback opposite tre white. You cant go another year with only 1 tight end on your roster. These things are crazy.
