@Brice Mora 2 good things can be true. Reynolds and Goff have been good together for a long time but more about this offense has changed then Reynolds

He’s been getting better at complete play calling but it was rough his first few games but obviously I’m aware it’s the first year of a rebuild but I do love seeing them being able to run the ball and maybe , with another year of his system in place with
cap room next off season and actually being able to spend some money because of all the bad contracts they still have on the books from there last gm to deal with this season with hopefully some more new good draft picks including a receiver to help stretch the field for that running game.

They could be a good team but they have with Dan Campbell someone that the players want to battle for unlike the last Detroit Lion head coach who shall not be named.

There’s a Coach that leads with feeling. Un-polished as he can be. He’s just a working in trench’s guy. I keep waiting for him show up a presser with a six pack. He fits Detroit and Michigan where we work for a living. Enough celebration, 3 more games to go. Back to work on planning for The Dirty Birds.

Coming from a Chargers fan, Anthony Lynn sucks. He can’t make in game adjustments to save his life and always choked in the 2nd half when he was our coach. I’m not surprised the team has gotten better when his responsibilities were reduced . Just be thankful he isn’t in charge of clock management or timeouts. The guy was a complete idiot in that regard. I still have nightmares of when he ran the ball with 10 seconds left in the half when we had no timeouts and were within field goal range. This is elementary stuff he couldn’t seem to comprehend.

Clearly a coach can change players. Goff was great under pressure, when there was nothing he made plays, too. Campbell have changed him the way to play. Goff looks more aggressive. What a win.

@cory vallad  Wake up out of your pretend world. If Caldwell inherited such a dynamic team why didn’t Jim Schwartz do better with it, the team was 6-10 his last year and Caldwell had it at 11-5 the year he took it over. He lost Suh and then Megatron in the following years and still kept the team in contention. He lost the conference game to Dallas on a very bad call and lost the division title on a controversial call against Atlanta. As for what Campbell inherited, fact is, the team is in this mess because an unqualified GM hired an unqualified coach and sabotaged what was being built. Furthermore, Campbell’s accomplishments as a coach do not compare to what Caldwell achieved. Let’s just be fair, honest and without our prejudice and the truth will guide the way.

@MR. K My issue with caldwell was that he was too conservative. Lions would get a lead and then he would try to run the clock out for 3 quarters. Then it was coin flip at the end of games. Either stafford clutched it or lions lost. When the defense was good in the 11-5 season that strat worked (until the playoffs), but when the defense fell off, it didn’t work anymore. Caldwell’s OCs didn’t do him any favors, but he needed to be aggressive to win some of those games. Clearly he was the best coach the lions have had since Fontes.. but it’s too early to judge Campbell. He is getting the team to play hard.. and he is aggressive.. but can he clean it up and get the talent to take it to the next level? We’ll see

Caldwell didn’t have a good GM either.

@Toasty You’re right, it’s too early to judge Campbell. That’s the issue I have with so many wanting to applaud him as the greatest since sliced white bread because of the win against Arizona. It’s one step in the right direction, let’s reserve judgement and see where this goes. I’d love to see him be successful. I want a winner here! But it bothers me that when we had a “players coach” an experienced winner with a proven track record who knew how to get the best out of what we had, and yes, that meant playing conservatively at times given our personnel; so many were not satisfied and advocated against him. Now we have a rookie head coach who has a 2-11-1 record and he is being elevated as the savior. Let’s wait and see what comes next.

Any team could have given up after how many we lost in a row. Hell the perfect comparision right now is Jags vs Lions. Jags and Lions have had very similar records, both had year 1 coachs, both a lot of losses, but one team is still fighting while the other had their coach work his way out of a job.

I know what you mean especially when you have a coach who always delivers a WWE speech, he really get me pumped for the team!

@MR. K Sorry, Caldwell was not a good coach. The team that was handed to Caldwell was dominant – they should have won a playoff game with that roster. The verdict isn’t in on Campbell, but I would easily take him over Caldwell

I’m from and live in Detroit, and time will tell. But their history, and by the way I’m not a Lions fan because of their history, says that they won’t do much of anything. It’s been like this since a guy name Russ Thomas, probably the worst general manager in sports history, seems that he still there running things, and that guarantee’s they will fail. Time will tell
