@TheSwagtiger, that’s quite petty of you to write. Yes, a former Lions GM fired Jim Caldwell. Me personally? I didn’t agree with that former GM’s decision. It was a heartbreaking moment. But ever since our Lions brought in a new owner.. that former GM got fired. I won’t write off Dan Campbell. Many first time NFL head coaches have struggled and are struggling in their first season.
Jim Caldwell was a seasoned NFL head coach. In my lifetime, Wayne Fontes and Jim Caldwell were our most successful head coaches. I do believe though that given more time to add depth to this Lions roster… Dan Campbell will be able to turn things around with sustained success. It took Wayne Fontes some time to turn things around, and he did. In my humble and honest opinion, I believe that Dan Campbell can and will as well.

@Jav C, Lions aren’t 0-10 in this rebuild season. Lions are 1-11-1. And Lions aren’t 1-11-1 and done with Dan Campbell.
6-10, 3-12, 5-11 aren’t Dan Campbell seasons. That’s an already fired former regime. They weren’t about a “rebuild” more than they were about destroying our winning Lions franchise.
It was the previous regime to that, Lions were playoff contenders and winners.

@Jav C, the 2001 to 2008 seasons and the 2018 to 2020 seasons that you’re referring to are a total of 11 losing seasons. So, yes, that was within the 2000s. Lions were successful with Wayne Fontes and Jim Caldwell.
It took time for Wayne Fontes to turn things around and Lions did. In my humble and honest opinion, Dan Campbell is the right head coach that’ll be able to do that in this Lions journey.

2001-2010 were all losing seasons.
From 2011 there were 4 winnings seasons. So where does that optimism come from? If you want to to relive the 90’s go ahead but irrelevant at this point.

@Jav C lifelong fan… been supporting and watching the Detroit Lions for more than several decades. The Detroit Lions are a great NFL football franchise. Non-fair weather fans support their favorite NFL team, through and through. And the Detroit Lions will forever be my favorite NFL team. They’re not winning much now, but the Detroit Lions will be a Super Bowl Championship caliber team. That’s what Dan Campbell and the Lions coaches are building. Go Lions!!!!
I’m with you Tony Pasta. I love MCDC. I love Goff. Amazing how good Goff is with no receiving corps though Reynolds is looking like a good prospect. Unreal how Goff can be hit so many times yet still gets back up. Those Debbie Downers are a waste of time. Injuries make football very unpredictable.
