But Mahomes knows not to throw the ball away on 4th down. Especially with WRs open. Goff is trash and his old team gave up on him because of his weak play.

Most fans realize the Lions DO NOT have a receiving corps that would benefit any QB the lions put out there. The difference is, Goff lacks so many needed physical and mental attributes of a competent modern day NFL QB. His deficits are clearly exposed to all of us that watch on game day. I’m sure he is a good guy, but that’s beside the point. He lacks arm talent, accuracy, reads, quickness, pocket awareness, and the ability to create on his own. To be frank, none of us know the offensive strategies (game plan) discussed behind closed doors, and perhaps his air yards are ‘basement level low’ because coaching is reinforcing that strategy for him on a weekly basis. Maybe in part because they realize the receivers are not good on this team and they are attempting to take the path of least resistance more times than not. Regardless, we have witnessed him attempt a few longer passes, either across the middle or to the sidelines, those attempts have been woefully off target. The ball does not come out of his hand with any kind of spin you might expect from a serviceable NFL QB , in fact they mostly resemble a wounded duck in flight. It will be interesting to see what Holmes and company do given the issues at QB and frankly in many other areas of the roster as well.
Goff gonna take the Lions to their first Super Bowl Championship. Doing a great job considering what he has to work with.

Overall, I do think the Lions lack a lot of talent from QB to the receivers and on defense. However, they have been in some close games and I do think with a better QB who can make things happen I t think at minimum they could have won two games at least. I think coaching has played a part in it as well an experienced coach making some poor decisions cost the the Greenbay game. Greenbay was beatable earlier in the season (second game) Lions lost that game when the coach went for it on 4th and 1(he had the QB throw it rather than run it). I knew then they lost that game. Ravens and Vikings were winnable even with this group. So, I give them 3 games they could have won this year. I think after losing so many games they are now beat down which is beyond a skill issue.
I’m sorry to say Goff has glaring weaknesses. The Rams were able to hide his deficiencies but it was exploited. He’s not the type to win games on his own and tends to panic under pressure. The Lions have to start looking for a quarterback.
Winless through 9 starts. Gotta go with someone else. I believe this injury is a blessing in disguise.

Look! Goff is struggling! It’s obvious! But he really has no targets. Idk. I hate how he drops back into sacks.! But he has free guys in his face so many times! What can he do? It’s a process. We were supposed to be bad this year. So I’m not pushing all the blame on him , or the receivers or the coaches just yet. The offense needs work. But damn this defense really isn’t as bad as it seems. Except for like two games
What makes anyone think that Boyle or Blough is a better option than Goff? THEY’RE HIS BACK UPS!! If You’re a Back up QB to Goff then it’s the end of the line, unless Your a Draft pick QB waiting his turn. Stop with the Cries for a QB change because if it happens now You won’t like what You get in return. Not dissing Tim or David but they definitely aren’t ready.
It’s funny seeing the Lions fans blame Goff. It’s not like you don’t have Neanderthal at head coach, were told prior to the season by all the analysts you’d be abysmal based on the rest of your roster and have an ownership that has shown no commitment to putting a winning product on the field,
