Every winning team is the right mix of the right players “at that time”. If he was the right guy at that time why didn’t they recognize that at the time and build on it? Wouldn’t he have been even better feeling comfortable in his status as starting QB and with a full camp and preseason practice?
He didnt have either of those and outshined Cousins who has had a few seasons now of preparation and practice?
BTW, what happened to that awesome defense? I really don’t know but did they have to let good players go to get Cousins?
If so they destroyed a team that was exactly what every coach and team owner dreams of; the right players at the right time. Thats why I thought Zimmer and anyone else that made the decision to drop Keenum should’ve been fired.
My dad just died at 90 years old. He watched the Vikes from the beginning always thinking this might be the year but it never happened. It doesn’t happen because we can’t put together a team that gels well. We had one in 2017 and these guys blew it. We will all die of old age before we see the Vikes win a SB unless something changes.

@Nathan Hagen no one is saying Keenum was a franchise QB, but Vikings could have paid him less, then drafted a QB with potential but no crying over spilled milk. It’s done and you guys are stuck with this mediocre QB that’s not worth the money he’s being paid.

It’s all about the money. Not his play. 45 mil is a lot of money. He’s a top 10 QB who needs a good line to thrive. So a better contract and o line play he can get you a ring.
