I really don’t get how this dude misses chip shots but makes 47+ yarders with all the pressure in the world.
@Terry Hamilton Not once did the holder mess up. Stop making excuses for a kicker who clearly needs to be replaced by a young rookie that’s hungry for a wins.
@Kip 151 Are you one of these. Chiefs fan base that always calls for the head of every Chief that messes up..bet you signed that petition to sit Mahomes? We have not lost one game due to any missed Extra point or FG..I still don’t understand your get rid of Butkers for a hungry rookie kicker..like Butkers isn’t hungry to win? How many games did he win or tie with kicks this year..so you would rather have an untested. HUNGRY ROOKIE KICKER that has never been in these stressful games over Butkers who just hammered a 49 yard game tying FG with zeros on the board which allowed us the chance to win in OT.

Check your stats again cuz you’re wrong. He has only missed 2 field goals within 40 yards in his career. 98% accuracy in “chip shot” range. But he has missed 14 when 40 yards or more. 80% accuracy.
@Kip 151 Butker currently has the 2nd best field goal percentage of all time behind only Justin Tucker. His range probably extends to 65 yards in the right circumstances. He’s come through every single time we “had to have it” to win or tie a game at the end. And he’s only 26 years old. And you wanna replace him with a “young rookie that’s hungry for a wins”. Let me cross you off my GM candidates list.

I am ever so thankful that he got the chance to not just redeem his previous miss, but to nail the game winner. Buttkicker is such a solid dependable man. So hard to do what he does, I cannot imagine. Legend. This whole team. I’m still pinching myself.
When you don’t catch, pass, run, or block a football, but kick a football and manage to still mess that up? Well, you’re doing a disservice to the other players that fought to win the game.

He reeks calmness and that’s what you want in a kicker. Calm, focused. I wouldn’t make a good kicker because I was cursing him for missing those two kicks.. Lol. He redeemed himself and had he not missed those two kicks we wouldn’t have had the most incredible comeback ever.
He always looks like he just woke up lol!

Love this guy. And he’s right on the squib kick. I’m sure we had hands team in there and they get the ball and advance it 10 yards in 3 seconds, still pretty close to where you want to be. You have to be pretty lucky to squib it to the 10 or 15 without messing it up. They were between a rock and a hard place those 13 seconds. We had all the time we needed. Unbelievable. And this guy, I know he missed some, but everyone misses. He came through when it was needed and has been a great kicker for the Chiefs. Best thing they could’ve done is try to put it at the 5 so we had to return it but I think we could’ve handled it.
Here’s to him making 100% of all his kicks in the next two games…🤞🏻
I like his mentality. He’s obviously level-headed, insightful and mentally tough.
To the commenters questioning his accuracy, he has the second highest field goal accuracy OF ALL TIME at almost 91%! And within 40 yards, he is 98% accurate.
