His change of direction skill for his size is incredible. And I think his size leads to defensive players underestimating his foot speed. Even after losing a step, I think they see this big TE lumbering downfield and they think they can track him easily but they end up taking the wrong angle because they don’t perceive how fast he’s actually going. You see it in baseball with pitchers who don’t throw for elite velocity but batters talk about how quickly the ball gets to them, the perceived velocity.
