So.. how many elite quarterbacks made it to the super bowl this year?
This bizarre myopic WE NEED A QUARTERBACK chant coming from the Broncos talking heads needs to change. First they say we need to trade multiple first round picks and a ton of cap space to get Rodgers or Wilson… BUT…
to be effective we need a better offensive line, because no matter how good your quarterback is, he will suck if you dont have a good line… BUT we desperately need an elite quarter back… they say.. BUT… we will be trading all of our draft picks that we need to actually get improvement out of the offensive line…
You cant do both.. either you get an elite QB behind a line that may change for the worse once we start clearing salary cap for the aforementioned elite quarterback…
or you start Lock, draft a lot of talent for offensive and defensive line, which we need…
A foolish GM would hire an Elite and not build the line for one very simple reason. The offense is more than just passing. Todays talking heads LOVE the big flashy offensive passing game, and they focus on it. Denver could have one of the best RUNNING games if we improved the line, because we already have Javonte Williams. Denver should be focusing on RUNNING more than passing, especially at altitude.
A smart GM would build one hell of an offensive line with this draft, a move that will help the running game and provide more time and less pressure NO MATTER WHO we have behind center.
This sell the farm for a 38 year old QB whos going to be running for his life with no first round draft picks to keep talent coming in?

Mathematically, one could make the argument that Von Miller is more valuable than the QB. Von opened up Donald, and that was a significant difference in the Super Bowl.
@daniel guth Good point. Von certainly was more valuable than Peyton in SB 50! Donald was probably the actual MVP this time.
