Rashaad Penny Highlights from Week 17 | Seattle Seahawks

We don’t know if he’s the real deal yet. He’s having huge games against some really bad defenses. Here’s what I do believe and it’s pretty obvious. He fits a zone scheme very well. A lot of his huge runs come off of outside/inside zone plays that allows him to cut back through a hole. He has a different burst than any Seahawks RB that we’ve seen in awhile. He has legit homerun speed every time. He’s more of a slasher and not a power dude. But he can gash you for huge runs. I’ll be interested to see what the Hawks do with him. I would cut Carson and maybe try to get Penny on a 2-3 year deal that goes for 5 or 6 million per year. I don’t know if this is fair price but he should be lower given his history. With that being said, you should target another good RB in free agency or in the draft. My wish last season was Javonte Williams. Man…A Penny/Williams duo would have been our thunder and lightning combo.

@Hoan Pham Well said! Obviously the O-line play has alot to do with it, like against the Rams, but when they are playing well Penny is playing great so thats very encouraging. I’m with you on the contract, I’d like to see multiple years at a low-ish rate due to his injury history. I think he’d be willing to do it, it would be a boost to his confidence having some security and could turn into a very team friendly situation if he continues to play well. He us the real deal. I guarantee you. If you want to question anything. You unfortunately have to now ask the credible question, can he stay relatively injury Free? He has pretty much be unstoppable in the NFL when he gets sufficient carries. But, he has to stay healthy.

@Robin Schultz He is intriguing. I think he might be very well sought after because he’s not going to command that much compared to a top flight RB. There are holes to his game but he’s good if the offense suits him. He’s explosive and fits a cut back system. He’s still someone that has to prove to be a RB1. Can he carry the load for the whole season? If the line breaks down, can he create? Can he get back to the line of scrimmage?

You got to cut Carson bro. He’s going to make nearly 6.5 million next season. You don’t know what he’s going to be and that’s a lot of risk for a RB. Penny is interesting. He’s going to have some teams go after him and he will be an attractive piece. He’s young and he has big time potential. He’s also going to be cheap or should be cheap. Let’s hope some team don’t lose their mind and give him a huge contract. I would love for the Hawks to resign him to a 2 year deal or something like that.
