@Michael Merideth Extending Montgomery would be a mistake. Have you looked at how things have usually turned out when running backs get huge contracts? Both Zeke Elliott and Christian McCaffrey’s contracts are total disasters. Dalvin Cook has generally been good when on the field, but he misses a lot of games. There are other bad contracts I could mention.The Bears have a capable backup in Khalil Herbert. They should hang on to Montgomery for one more year, then let him walk in free agency.
