However, the Packers general manager noted that he felt the conversations between Adams and the organization were “open and honest.” In an ideal world, Adams would have wanted to return to Green Bay no matter what, but it just was not the case. Adams wanted to go to the Raiders to reunite with Derek Carr, even though the Packers made a competitive money offer.

Nah he requested a trade to the raiders after the season ended he was done since last season when they didn’t extend him he even posted a last dance before the season. Packers didn’t have to trade him either but it all worked out

@Ebk_YoungBull_ Idk. What made Bill Musgrave’s offense worked in 2016 was our offensive line. We had one of thee best olines in the league that year. We had Donald Penn, Kelechi Osemele, Rodney Hudson, Austin Howard & Melenik Watson. We don’t have much of an o -line rn, so it’s hard to predict if our offense will be successful next season. We’ll just have to wait & see what they do as the offseason progresses.

That’s the thing. Anyone can put players together. But can they cook with the ingredients they get and serve a good product

@Cory Rickard Agreed. The Raiders have been doing well in the offseason the past 4 years, but end up bombing in the regular season. Idk if the same thing will happen this coming season. Not to seem pessimistic & all, but we do have an ex Patriot coach on our team & we all know how ex Patriot coaches do outside of New England. However, we’ll just have to wait & see. The season hasn’t started yet so maybe this will be the year & J – Mac will be the coach to end the Patriot curse.

@Cesar Canete I sure hope so. Been getting hopes up since 03 finally get something going and then goodell got a hard on for gruden. But hopefully McDaniels can keep it going. I like Ziegler though

@Cory Rickard I’m sorry but I’m gonna have to disagree with you on Gruden. We already had a great thing going on with JDR & Reggie until Mark Davis dumped JDR for Gruden because of the Las Vegas move. I mean I get it, I understand it’s a business & you need a name brand, high profile coach to sell tickets & all & Gruden does that, JDR doesn’t. Yeah, I know he had 1 bad season, but that right there shouldn’t be the reason to be fired. He honestly shouldn’t have been fired about that & I’m still mad & hate the Raiders for that along with firing Reggie after the Pittsburgh win. I also wasn’t happy that we didn’t make Rich Basacia the permanent head coach after he led our team to the playoffs through drama & adversity, but again, it’s a business & he isn’t a coach that is a name brand coach that sells tickets like J – Mac.

Please tell me more about how Gruden and Mayock didn’t emphasize the identical points. I believe that’s all they emphasized, besides being foundational players, which they defined as being high caliber, playing for each other, and loving football.

@safebelayer I am kind of thinking that if this WAS what they emphasized, the Raiders may have had a season better than .500 in any one of those years. One or both of them MAY still have a job with the team and, well, pretty sure we’re clear on who they drafted, who they kicked to the curb, and the, well, less than stellar results of some of those players in their personal lives. Yep lots of players can be Ruggs’ or Arnette’s but teams that win playoffs and SB’s keep their players, reward them well, and they keep their jobs for doing so. They also have very little sideshow drama going on with players. Can’t say any of that was true when Gruden was there. Or do you know a bunch of winning teams who have all that and go on to win playoffs and titles/ Please enlighten me. And if you say the patriots I am going to say, how many freaking playoffs and titles does that team have?

Leatherwood did improve as the season went on. Idk the two different offensive coaches, but most say the new one is better- I hope so.
Parker killed us. Coaching? Idk it was his 3rd year so the new coaching better see exactly what to fix and know how or he is a bust.

It sounded to me when asked like they tried to get someone in free agency for oline and didn’t get someone they tried to.

Drafting o-line doesn’t always go that well for first season. Hopefully our hurt guys all get better and we don’t loose those ones.

Imo the right side of the oline was our number one problem in offense.

Yeah, exactly. I just think the money can be reallocated in fresh new players coming into the draft. And also, for that type of money, the Raiders better start slinging the ball to him on a very high average. Then, he’ll probably be doubled teamed anyway.
Then again, it depends on the game scheme each week. But yeah, that’s a lot of money for one man. You’re right
