Drafting for need over value got us Ferrell & Arnette, aka not a damn thing. Always go BPA. You draft players for what they are going to give you in year 2 or 3. If you get any immediate impact players in year 1 that’s a bonus.

    Raider Champion

    Agreed..
Get the best talent you can in the draft and use free agency to fill holes.

    Plowjogger1776

We have a luxury this year because we have enough needs that we can let the draft come to us. No need to reach up with a trade for any player. Well, almost. Sometimes a guy falls for crazy reasons like Moehrig did last year. Lots of teams are kicking themselves over that one! I’ve been wondering if there is a promising QB there at 22 if Tampa and Detroit might come calling seeking a trade. Detroit may want to leapfrog Tampa, or Tampa may want to stop Detroit from getting that guy. Going to be fun!

raidernationcali

Wilson is headed to denver. Better improve this team offensively and defensively. AFC West just became the most competitive division.

    Un Malo

Wow, you are so astute! “Better improve this team offensively and defensively.” Is their anything other than that that they should do? I have found Captain Obvious!!!!!

    steven bosset

    @Un Malo 😆

    Michael Smithlin

agreed! i think with a good receiver and offensive tackle we’ll be more than fine

    raidernationcali

@Michael Smithlin Yes sir. Go Raiders.

LasVegasRaiders

Let’s go

LasVegasRaiders

We need either Chris olave or devonta adams

    27RAIDERMAN

    Adams is getting Franchise Tagged

    Reza

DJ Chark with Chris Olave would be perfect

    Jv W

I wanna get george pickens in the second round and jordan davis in the first. Pickens would be our wr1 instantly.

Young DB94

Castro Valley High Alum Austin great to see you bro and more success on the way 👌💯

    Raiders Cat

    oh that’s cool

PirateRaider

DJ chark is perfect for this scheme.

    Plowjogger1776

IF he can stay healthy. His medical evaluation will be crucial.

Reza

Grab DJ Chark in Free Agency & Chris Olave with the draft pickup…We should be set 👌 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

Jdleg

Absolutely drafting the best player available is the best way. If you have two players that are equal and one is a position of need. Then do it. Drafting strictly for a need. What happens when you miss, you have accomplished nothing. Raiders have done too much of that.

    Cisco E

    Exactly

    John Brubaker

    Reach after reach

We would have been better trading out of the first 2 rounds and loading up on 3rd thru 5th

Kenneth Speaks

Let the emotions run high for a few days then be rational mindset continue to put a long term plan in place

This is a great discussion! I’m an Alabama fan who said Jacobs would be perfect for the Raiders both as an RB1 and a pass catcher. I thought that’s why we drafted him! I’ve screamed every year to get him more involved in the passing game.
Two realities have to be factored in for this upcoming draft. First, McDaniels loves 2 TE sets. I believe we will draft another one this year, especially one who is an all-purpose TE with good hands. A guy like Kolar of Iowa State in the midrounds or somebody like that.
Second, our new DC uses a 3-4 D. We don’t have a 3-4 NT on the team or the one big, powerful DE to go with Maxx on the other side. We have more needs than people think. I think we’re going to pull a New England and do some drafting down for more picks. Lots of talent at positions of need for us, but I’m thinking the talent at DE at #22 will dictate we take one. Yannick is only with the team one more year then we can’t afford him. Get his replacement now, and have him as we transition to a 3-4. Also, this will help against the run also when he’s on the field. I even think we could trade down and get Holland of Houston for that. 6’6″ and 275. Long, lean, and fast.

    James White

hey,we draft his replacement last year,
his name is “KOONCE, and he’s going to be”GOOD!!!

    Breyan

I have TE’s Jelani Woods or Jake Ferguson on my Raiders Draft Board.
Logan Hall would be a beast on the LE

What’s your Idea for 3/4 LB’s in the draft? I’m totally lost in that scheme.

    I like Channing Tindall’s speed

    Plowjogger1776

@Breyan I personally think this is a good LB class. Like TEs, it is not loaded at the top, but value is there even in the fifth round. Thing is, if we get the right two guys to pair with Maxx, the LBs are free to roam the middle and make life miserable for opposing QBs. I look at the talent at positions of need for us and I really hope we trade down and get some more mid-round picks. For LBs, look out for Chris Allen from Alabama, my team. He got hurt at the beginning of the year, but he’s a beast at OLB in the 3-4. Other guys who look good right now to me in 3-5 rounds are dudes like Dominique Robinson, Brandon Smith, Zacoby McClain, Damone Clark, Terrell Bernard, Mike Rose and some others. We have some pieces already and are not that far off from what our new DC needs.

123hightech

We need everything lol

Amin James

We need a speed wide receiver we have to go against the chiefs twice a year what our y’all talking about.

    thetwilightsown

Patriots had one big name wr during their dynasty… they emphasize smart players who know the pro game, their route trees and who do their “job” McDaniels already has Renfrow and Waller, Foster can be the 2nd TE. BPA all the way!

    Amin James

@thetwilightsown it doesn’t have to be a big name but he still need a speed wide receiver to help them out.

Juan Galvan

The 22 pick has to be DT hopefully Jordan Davis. The second round the big right tackle from Minnesota daniel faalele

    Marcus Cooper

Nightmare scenario – both are raw and need so much work on their technique – Faalele is so big he might never be fast enough to play Tackle – we don’t want another RT failure pushed inside to Guard.

    Juan Galvan

@Marcus Cooper  I never said they will start I just say they will be great picks

    Juan Galvan

@Marcus Cooper  plus that was Miller and now he is a highly respected Ledt tackle which is harder to play because they protect the QB blind side.

    Juan Galvan

@Marcus Cooper  plus with the defense we need a big man to at least eat up blocks so are DE can get to the QB .

    Juan Galvan

@Marcus Cooper  plus if we get Duane Brown,or Trent Brown or Eric Fisher to teach Daniel faalele and calais campbell to teach Jordan Davis ID we get any of them

Tst Secu

#7 all the clutch catches yellow

Andy Kanani

Interesting that he mentioned Sky Moore because I didn’t watch a lot of the combine but there was a minute where Steve Smith was impressed by him just looking at the way he was moving around fluid. Reminded him of himself and apparently Moore is a sleeper but I have a feeling that the scouts aren’t sleeping on him too much.

Planetraider

If Jordan Davis is there at 22 snag him, but if not take London or Olave.

Cisco E

No more reaching for mediocre college CB’s in first round ahead of better football players on the DLine, OLine, Reciver and or rangy LB/Safety hybrid

mra Fetti

if we take wr i hope its olave he just got those vibes of all the young receivers in the league rn

Marcus Cooper

First video in a long time that I haven’t been able to watch at 1.25 speed – these guys talk fast!

B T3

Raiders need a player like Davante Adams… Raiders proceed to trade their 1st and 2nd rnd picks for Davante Adams
