It’s hard for sure. Even as a fan it feels like we lost a friend due to his personality and watching him play. It’s tough being a Raiders fan and this year is definitely hard. RIP to the victim. All I can say is “damn man”.

I feel bad for the victim that died. I am upset we are losing a talent like Henry, who was going to break 1000 yards. He threw his life and career away over a stupid decision. Get a damn uber and this young girl is alive and he salvages his career. We have depth at the position, but his speed is insane. Ironically it was that speed that killed that poor girl and his career as well. He had everything going for him.

I’ve also got a dui and I kept drinking and driving after that until several dramatic events happened and I hit rock bottom. now I’m seven years clean and sober.
I hope ruggs changes his life after this and I hope the Raiders honor the young lady and her dog their next home game.

Well said, chefboyarleezy. It could have happened to me. It could happen to anyone who has a couple too many drinks. Half the stadium at every game drives home with a buzz on. You might get drunk, get in a stupid fight, knock a man down, he hits his head and dies.
Judge not, friends and neighbors. It could have been you. Ruggs will be held accountable, as he should. But we don’t really have a right to judge him like some people are.

@YAWN YAWN Nobody factors off the field behavior when talking about the MVP. Arod won it past year and the difference between arod and carrs off the field character is like night and day. Derek Carr is the MVP no matter what anyone says. He has so much love in his heart for god and his fellow man off the field while tearing apart defenses on the field. Nobody in the league can do what he does
I could listen to Derek talk all day. Such profound faith and wisdom. Speaks volumes of his character, his passion for God, and his love for his fellow man.
Yes! God is speaking through him and sharing his love when nobody else will that’s how you know he’s very passionate about his savior ❤

“He needs people to love him right now.” I love that statement. I know it’ll rub the ravenous wolves the wrong way but it’s true. Two things can be true at the same time. Yes, the victim’s loved ones need it the most and God bless them but Ruggs needs it as well. Many people are foaming at the mouth wanting Ruggs to fry while Carr is reminding people to show grace and pray for people. Pray that they see the error of their ways and change for the better. He knows Ruggs made a huge deadly mistake, but he wants him to repent and change not get the electric chair.

@DogSlobber Gardens Well, even if he had done something intentionally out of malice I’d say it’s still the same. In that you still pray for the person to repent and change. Needless to say it’d be more difficult especially for the victim(s) and their loved ones, but it’s something one should still strive to do but that’s a whole other conversation.

Derek Carr is a class act and a class human being. Sending prayers to the family of the victim. Ruggs is a 22 year old kid who made an absolutely terrible decision, and hoping he gets the love and support he will need moving forward. There are lessons to be learned from this truly unfortunate tragedy.

As a member of Raider Nation I am absolutely devastated about this news. I feel for the girl and her family and I feel awful for Henry Ruggs as well. I honestly couldn’t sleep last night and Im still in shock. I never met Henry but it felt like I knew him after watching him play and watching all the interviews of his. This will haunt the Raider Nation for a long time, I hope Henry can one day find peace.

I definitely don’t see him coaching in the NFL LOL… he’s way more likely to go on the journey of becoming a preacher.
I think he would be a great coach as well but I think he wants to become a pastor after he retires. That would be my guess
