Three Things: Special teams, defense, a changing team – FANTASY FOOTBALL FAN SITE
Less Go

Our special teams have been embarrassing all year long and the offense didn’t make up for it. I honestly have 0 idea what to do this offseason

This off season you get to go out and enjoy a life away from stressful life changing football decisions, just like me. Let’s make the best of it

It was the inevitable that we lose because of special teams

FilmaKING

no Matter what happens. I will ALWAYS LOVE THE GREEN BAY PACKERS!!!

Man, defense really did all they could. Strange game all around (except ST)

10 years of let downs

Matthew Moser

Really wasn’t expecting the offense to let us down this game, I was expecting the defense to fall apart but our offense to go on a tear. Doesn’t seem like Aaron can perform well in the post season. its time we accept that.

    Mrbink01

Agreed. Special teams was terrible…we’ve come to expect that. Why did the offense put them in a position to rely on special teams? So many missed opportunities for short, quick passes over the middle. They lost because the offense couldn’t move the ball, convert on 3rd down, or score. Losing to a team that didn’t even score a an offensive touchdown is beyond ridiculous.

    Ikken Hisatsu

He had a 68.6% completion rate and threw no picks. Dropped passes, and fumbles, all not Rodgers’ fault. No one but 17 seemed able to get open. Rodgers can’t do it by himself. Brady even lost today.

Matt Kay

Doesn’t help when 90% of the passes go to Adams

    Lucas Nogueira

He was actually efficient when targeted

    Mrbink01

The ball needs to be spread around more, but it doesn’t really build confidence in a QB to target others when they drop, fumble, or fail to make a play on the ball.

Tom Collins

Two blocked kicks, those were the obvious reasons why the Packers lost. Packers special teams weren’t prepared to block and the 49ers found the weak links in the chain, probably from reviewing footage from their loss to the Packers earlier in the season. Credit to them.

10 packers players were on last fg play

    x. su

offense can’t do much after the first drive is the obvious reason they lost. If they just put up 14 points, ST failure wouldn’t have mattered.

Tired old mechanic

The Packers Special Teams have been horrible for over twenty years and nothing has been done that has made them any better. The offense was also bad in this game with the offensive line getting beaten badly and Rodgers holding the ball too long and throwing passes at receivers ankles.

    Mark Melville

What I question is why they decided to change the OL lineup and not dance with the guys that brought them there.

Adam I

As much as we love Aaron, the guy is not clutch in the post season. Yes, our special teams is the worst in the league. But we had a chance of winning it all for the last 3 years and didnt get to the super bowl even once.. If Aaron was clutch and executed, he would have 4 rings and Brady would have 6. Aaron would defo be in the GOAT convo. But Aaron is officially not clutch in the post season, we need to accept that.

I’d be okay sticking with Aaron if he wants to be here, he deserves the loyalty. But I’m just mentally preparing for another draining off-season and honestly if our stars want to leverage too much, let them leave. They’ve choked 3 years in a row, go do it somewhere else if you don’t care about this team. I’m just mentally done with the drama..

    shaochia vang

They went 15-1 just to be one and done in 2011. Had the best team in 2014, 2020 and 2021 and still cannot make it to the super bowl.

    jim perry

Losing to the 49ers at home is pitiful. One touchdown isn’t going to beat anyone. Usually the defense gives it away. They played awesome and this is the end result….
    Sad.

Imagined if Rodgers won a SB during all 5 championship appearances. He’ll be a 5x SB champ and Brady would be 4x SB cause Packers would have vs Brady and the Pats in 2014/2016 and then Brady and the Bucs in 2020.

Been saying from time the Packers are a regular season team

Caca Andy

Never knew you could lose from special teams that bad lol. I was in shock last night, I was more disappointed that Aaron or Tae might have had there last football game as packers 🙁

Mike Gray-Ehnert

9ers coach commented before the game that the only place he felt they had an advantage was on special teams. He was right. That has been an issue in Green Bay for quite a number of seasons. That needs to be fixed ASAP!

HitmanStark

Once they blocked the FG I already knew we were gonna lose based off of Special Teams alone. Poorly coached team, no accountability, from the coaches to the QB

Nicky Sun

We have some special needs on our special teams

Neil Holschbach

Just glad everyone made their millions!! Hats off to no one!!

R. McNair

ST obviously, but nobody gonna talk about the 75+% chance AJones had to make that td but instead decided to run toward the defender

Nick Wiener

When do you decide as the Packer organization that Aaron Rodgers clearly can’t get it done in the big game. All these playoff loses throughout the years have 1 thing in common. The all time great MVP QB played terrible in the biggest game of the year. Being the best doesn’t matter if you get scared and shrink when it matters most.

THANK YOU, MY BEST PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS OUT ON FIELD ALWAYS

Paul Weeldreyer

I’m a Vikings fan but it’s absurd to blame Rodgers. Rodgers threw for more yards than SF had total. Their special teams gave away 10 points, in that weather, you can’t do that.

    Adam Koepke

I’ve defended Rodgers for a long time but he deserves blame here as well. He’s one of the best throwers to ever play the game, but there’s no excuse for only putting up 10 points. He missed numerous reads of guys that were wide open and started going back to hero ball and predictable passing. What got us here was the quick game. He was diving up defenses left and right. He’s just not the guy he used to be where he could dance around the pocket and extend plays. The defense gave him so many chances to get out there and put up points. This is on Rodgers, the play calling, and special teams

Christopher Karlecke

Have enjoyed you guys all season! Thanks.

Looking forward to the draft and the buildup and all the moves to be made in the near future with my Green Bay Packers ✊
