100% agree, but the award voters hold AR12 against him. Kind of BS, because he does a heck of a job.
Interesting that there was only one question on special teams and the reporter basically apologized for asking it. I guess they have been told not to ask about Maurice Drayton. I too wouldn’t want to talk about having a completely incompetent idiot as a special teams coach if I was Matt.
I thought Drayton was supposed to be a ST guru.
Maurice is actually a really nice guy. He just is in over his head. He is not qualified to be a coordinator. He assisted Mennenga in the horrible special teams for 2 years prior to this season. Matt then promotes him. Now Matt refuses to discuss why Drayton still has a job. He needs to fire him and get the special teams operating at a competent level himself. You do not let your team go into the playoffs not trusting the special teams. Recipe for failure in a season that could be special.

Eric Stokes was a FANTASTIC pick. I still live in an imaginary world where we can re-sign Rodgers, Adams, and Alexander. Our secondary will be amazing if healthy. In my imaginary 2022 mind.

@PackMan Sports Yes I know. But that is meaningless, they have to scrap that because of the salary cap. They need to do something with one or more of these players to be able to keep more than one of them, much less all three. To keep all three, they’ll have to kick the salary cap can down the road so to speak and do a bunch of new contracts with them. And in my imaginary 2022 world, they pull it off.

I’d say the term”Steady Eddie” fits Matt well. He’s evolving each week highly intelligent, willing to adapt in the flow of the game. His players believe in him that’s one of the biggest assets of the head coach!
