@The Quixotic Angler exactly the problem. some of those guys don’t know how to fall out of the blocks. Im not sure if its this vid but there is another vid of the commentator talking about how they runner looked like he was about to trip but he end up running a 4.3
@J35_bnz Indeed. A good sprinter risks everything on take off. It’s actually a major part of a RBs success. He’s five yards behind the line. That slow first 10 means he’s getting TFL quite often. Wouldn’t take him. This is why the 40 is important.

The ones with slower times are coming up to soon. Faster ones are staying down till they are almost full speed. Just my observation. God Bless
Drive phase, this why you get with a sprints coach. And mid distance coach for stride speed
@Felity no hate. But they not pros yet and a lot of these guys coulda used a track coach. Still so much talent and hardwork
gotta keep your head down the first 30 yards, they teach you this in track. That’s how you tell who sprints fr and who’s just fast.

I’ve seen plenty of these guys pull away from defenders on film. These forty times are irrelevant.
Best steals will be the ugas backs. White and cook will be great additions to any team and both will be 2nd or 3rd down backs. Idk why you don’t always go after georgia backs. History shows they’re a smart investment.

I didn’t watch the combine but from the highlights didn’t Cook have the best showing? His 40 was great, real steady. All his footwork drills were absolutely seamless.
It’s too bad Keith Marshall never really recovered.

You can really tell who can transfer their time here to the football field by how fluid and natural they run. No way to fake around stiff, unnatural hip movements

When you start, you should be almost falling forward. Some of those guys could get much better times if they had track and field training. In high school, anyone who played football or basketball were encouraged to run track for indoor and outdoor season
Yes, Roger Craig should be in the Hall. I love Terrelll Davis and for 3 years he was as valuable a player as any player in history, but how is he in the HOF ahead of Craig.

They aren’t really looking at the whole 40. Just the 10 yard split. For RBs this is a huge metric. How fast you can get 5 yards past the line of scrimmage is everything. Took this guy 2 seconds. Way too long.
