@Gumbo19141 Yes you are correct, if you don’t go to an HBCU or predominantly black school or parents didn’t teach it to you you are not taught this song. I didn’t hear this song until I started going to the football classics in my late teens. This was the best version that I’ve ever heard, I had to print the lyrics to really learn it.

I feel like Mr. Clark in Lean On Me, everybody needs to know this song no matter what race you are but in this version! Mary, Mary made the song sound like an anthem, gospel, and R & B song all in one. Great job by the youth orchestra! All the singing from Mary, Mary, Jhené Aiko, to Mickey Guyton was just wonderful!
