Trust is developed during camp and such. Chad Johnson, who was a great WR wanted to play for BB and TB, but some reason couldn’t get on the same page as TB. But, a guy named Julian Edelman could. Remember, Johnson was a touted WR coming out of Oregon State (36th overall), Edelman was a little known QB coming out of Kent State and drafted 232nd overall.
DJ Chark was the difference maker. When he went down he started to struggled mightily. Lost Etienne at beginning of the year too which i feel wouldve made a diff. But i do agree the chemistry wasnt there with those receivers.

Will never forget Peyton Manning’s rookie season. He had a rough time. Now I’m not saying TL is Peyton Manning, but we obviously rarely see a rookie quarterback perform ridiculously well.

Trevors numbers and stats his rookie year are better in many of the individual Qb categories than Josh Allen’s rookie numbers. Percentage wise, since Allen only played 12 games, many of the important stats are better. Trevors completion % much better, his under pressure % is almost 20% better, Trevors rating was 71.9, Allen’s rating was 67.9. Yards gained per game- Trevor had 214, Allen had 172. Sack % Trevor was 5%, Allen was 8%(and 7.5% year 2)… There’s many important stats Trevor was better and very close on the others and Josh Allen didn’t have near as clusterfuck as a team management as Clowntown had.

Trevor Lawrence could easily be a top 10 QB if he had the right talent surrounding him. Just look at Mac Jones and how he’s doing
people don’t want to admit it but you saw flashes of greatness. It really is amazing the talent he has next year will suprise people dont be shocked when they make the playoffs.
Flashes heII, look at his quick release, arm strength and pocket awareness… I’ve never seen a rookie Qb have such pocket awareness. His willingness to step up in the pocket with such ease and confidence is something you never see from young Qb’s, there’s several multi-year great Qbs that still aren’t comfortable doing that. Compare Trevors individual Qb stats to Josh Allen’s first year stats, in many of them Trevor’s numbers are better than Allen’s.
We all know why so many people are hating on Trevor and it has nothing to do with his play and performance, Like they said on Pat Mcafee show… “Trevor is just one of those over-hyped whites”.

@Benny Pit At least Josh Allen showed his mobility in rookie season. TL made awful decisions and even missed screen passes this season, which is not the fault of bad WRs and Urban Meyer. Wk18 performance was fascinating, but that’s only one of 17 games. Remember Mike White had 400+ passing yard to complete upset against Bengals

I hope this guy stays on the team his whole career because the jags are just getting started on what could possibly be a dynasty in the late 20s (near future)
Now take the fact that all of those stats could have doubled if his WR’s could catch. He would also have like 5-7 less INT and a couple more TD’s.
As a Bengal fan, I really want Lawrence to be good. Would love to see Burrow vs Lawrence become a thing. And I think it will.

-Bad offensive line
-Wide Receivers almost never are wide open

As a long time jags fan I was very pleased with Trevor’s rookie year. He show many flashes of greatness. Despite the disfunction in the organization with Urban Meyer he kept his head down and just played football. He also had 3 wins through all of it, 2 of them being against a hell of a bills team and knocked the rival colts out of the playoffs. With Doug Pederson now at the helm, he will thrive! We got you Trevor you’re our guy! Go jags! DUUUVALLLL
