Herbert and Mahomes are going to be the top 2 guys to watch for years to come. I can’t wait to see these guys when they are older and better then they are right now having major shoot outs twice a year.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but it should be realized that there is a HUGE gap between Herbert and Mahomes.
@S. M I’m a Chiefs fan but Herbert and the Chargers are a great team that will put the Chiefs to the test every time. The way Herbert plays my one day surpass Mahomes and become the new Tom Brady. Who knows. The Chargers maybe the AFC team that makes it to the super bowl when they get in the playoffs as a wild card. Funny things happen in sports.

@Lucky Luke Mahomes’ contract is very team friendly. You can’t just divide the contract money by years and determine how it works.
It’s set up to keep his number reasonable so they can keep a team around him. There are plenty of places to read about it.
We looking at one of the best games being played this season. Justin Herbert played a heck of a game tonight, but there’s no doubt that Patrick Mahomes looked like his old self in the 4th quarter and in overtime. Maybe, that’s a springboard for the Chiefs as they make the push for the #1 seed in the AFC playoffs
Why hasn’t ESPN covered University of Pennsylvania, Lia Thomas a transgender swimmer who is shattering women’s records???
She could go on to not only smash all Women’s collegiate records but also women world swimming records. There is not one story from ESPN on any of it’s shows
Is ESPN transphobic ?? Where did all of ESPN wokeness go?
If this is the end of Women collegiate sports as defined in Title 9 than this is a major sports story and ESPN should be covering it!

What a game! A lot of misplays on both sides offensively and defensively. But this game also had some really good explosive drives and great highs for both QBs. Has to be one of the most entertaining Thursday night game in recent years. Chiefs were missing Chris Jones badly inside.

@negan rex I wouldn’t either. I would say that KC has superior coaching though and that is what made the difference in this game. Chargers vs chiefs is going to be a great rivalry for the next few years, and maybe longer depending on how well the teams draft, and replace players past their prime. Kelce is getting older, and Allen for the Chargers has been around for quite a while, plus he’s had injury problems. So we might not have much time left to enjoy these great players. I for one, am very happy that we have a team as competitive as the Chargers to face in our division, and who knows, the donks might be able to sign a veteran future HoF quarterback soon and make it a three way battle for the division.
@Rusty Reese I’m sure by the looks of it in the division the Chargers is going to be the Chiefs new Broncos of not long in the past with that young QB the Chargers got. Both teams could go far like you said before if they make good draft picks and keep a good team build around them.
What I’m worried about and it is the same old mistake KC makes all the time is build a player up to be grater than they are and they fall flat on their face because they didn’t keep up on building a team around them.
What i like seeing is Mahomes is taking a chapter out of Rich Gannon’s ( Chiefs screwed over big time and treated him like a bench wormer ) play book and doing it will.

@negan rex KC is a superior team because they are the number one seed in the AFC, two time AFC champions, while the Chargers need help just to get into the playoffs.
Also because Mahomes is much better than Herbert.
Also don’t let the score fool you. This chiefs defense is top tier. They kept the chiefs in this game. The offense left so many points in the field, the d had to stonewall to stay in it.
They are so much better with Jones as well he makes a phenomenal tackle and helps Ingram on the edge
That rout by Hill at 5:50 was just incredible

Amazing game from start to finish with a thrilling ending to top it off. The Chargers could have seal the deal if they had taken those FGs earlier instead of repeatedly going for it on 4th and 1, which came back to haunt them in the end. Chiefs stuck it out and came through in the clutch. Hats off to Mahomes and company for playing tough and gritty football when it came to crunch time. Great game and Chargers have nothing to be ashamed about.

@FadeZz Dv looked like he tripped on the turf to me. He was still running after ward face planted himself. The contact happened when ward was looking for the ball, so it’s incidental. Thought it was a good no call.
@Zayne S what was the penalty difference? I don’t remember off the top of my head, but I think the Chargers had one more penalty than KC did. I know fans love to blame the refs for everything, but the fans are very biased.

These coaches gotta stop being so aggressive every time. I understand going for it in certain situations. But you can turn the momentum of the game totally around by allowing the other team to stop you on 4th down and keep you from adding to the lead, if you just kick the chip shot field goal you keep the momentum on your side and keep the other team from getting it. At the end of the first half they had a chance to kick a chip shot field goal to go up by two possessions and go into the locker room on a good note. Instead they turn it over on downs and KC goes into the locker room feeling way better and with the momentum.

prayers up to Donald Parham!!!! That looked so scary and I hope he gets a chance to play football again, as a Chiefs fan I hated watching him get hurt. Head injuries are scary and I don’t care what team you root for you never want to see anyone get that hurt playing football.

I am sure I wasn’t the only Chiefs fan who was also running right along with KELCE! It’s one of the best games I have watched this season. The chargers played one hell of a game, but the Chiefs played harder.

The one dude saying the Chiefs are the best in the west as usual and there never was any doubt tonight there’s a reason all the experts picked KC and finally something like “the Chargers luck got them 1 W, no way it was going to get them 2 against a superior team this year even with the substantial help from the refs.”
I mean what game was he watching? As happy as your post game celebrations are that much more to the other side our sadness, bitterness and frustration is if not more with the way out actual luck is along with being constantly snake bit and the team moving ETC! Nevermind I’m just pissed, sorry.

You could see right before halftime that Mahomes was just itching to get back out there. I’m a Steeler fan, but if he stays healthy, I don’t see anybody beating KC. That young man is amazing.!!! Impressive display.

@al d actually we have the 5th best defensive in the NFL. And have only scored 30 4 times this year. Believe it or not our defense has kept us in games for the past few months bc our offense has been shaky at best. We were missing our 3 best players on all 3 levels of d last night. Which is not an excuse but a big blow nevertheless. Plus the Chargers are a solid and dangerous football team

I love the fact that in OT Travis Kelce Wasn’t paying attention and dropped the ball then immediately the next play got like 20 yards then a hype touchdown!

By the 4th quarter I felt very similar to when the Chiefs played the Rams in 2018. Glad KC won the game! Both offenses kinda stalled in the middle of the game but then both offenses woke up. Love the Chiefs, huge respect to the Chargers. They are a legit team.
The next decade is going to be fun to watch between Mahomes and Herbert. Hope Parham will make a fast recovery. I hate seeing injuries in sports no matter the team.
Amazing game!!! My chiefs never gave up all heart . The defense made it happen . Soooooo proud of them especially without Jones. Chiefs deserved to win baby!!!!! And as usual Mchomes is magic!!!!!
