Blake Robinson

This is my favorite podcast. I think if you like more analysis and deep dive into the games. And less yelling at the microphone.

I enjoy them all for different reasons but this is my #1

    Silver Ancient

Same, im just tires of the thumbnail shenanigans they keep doing with Ambar so I’ve stopped watching for the most part

Tony pollard needs respect

Zamdfw

IMHO we are two stud linebacker short of being an elite defense. With Tank, Gregory, gallimore coming back we will definitely get even better and can easily be top 5.

    Deezboyz Justwin

No we are a stud defensive tackle and a very good back up defensive tackle a solid 2n cornerback

    Antbeast23

I think we are an elite safety and dt away from being real elite on defense wait till next year

    Serviam

Imho, we need a banger draft. We need a DT, LB and a DB. Jabril has potential at LB. But, we need another solid LB. LVE is not the answer. I agree with Dave that Keanu Neal is not a long term guy. I would love for us to grab Brandon Smith from Parsons’s and Lee’s alma mater Penn State in the next draft. You should check out Andrew Booth Jr. (CB), Ahmad Gardner (CB), Coby Bryant (CB), Brandon Joseph (S), Lewis Cine (S) and Smoke Monday (S). For DT, check out Jordan Davis (DT), Travon Walker (DT), Haskell Garrett (DT) and Jermayne Lole (DT).

Disagree with Nick about Too Tall but. He (Nick)was not around back then. There’s a significant argument that Ed and Harvey, who has119 plus sacks, belongs in the Hall!

    Serviam

Maraposa, you’re absolutely right. There are a lot of guys that deserve to be in there – Charlie Waters, Harvey Martin, Jim Jeffcoat, Lee Roy Jordan, Tony Tolbert, Darren Woodson, Nate Newton and:

Player: Ed “Too Tall” Jones, Defensive End
    Years Active: 1974-1978; 1980-1989
    Accomplishments: 3× Pro Bowl (1981–1983), Super Bowl champion (XII), First-team All-Pro (1982), 2× Second-team All-Pro (1981, 1983)

    Career NFL Statistics:

    Games played: 224
    Games started: 203
    Tackles: 1,032
    Sacks: 106
    Interceptions: 3
    INT yards: 14

Long time Cowboys fan (the mid-60s) and a fan of Zeke, but one of the reasons that I liked Zeke was because as a RB he would gain three – five yards on a run. Now, he has become like other running backs, whereas he only gets one to three yards. This insistence of using Zeke, maybe Jerry’s call, makes no sense. Either it is the OL; KM’s play-calling or Dak audibling out of the play, then maybe that explains part of it, but if it is, then the OL coach, KM, and Dak are NOT learning from their past games. In addition, if Zeke is hurting, then it makes more sense to sit him down and rest him, but the only problem with that is, who is the 3rd RB on this team? The Cowboys must NOT think too highly of the 3rd RB if they have one if he can not spot Zeke for several carries. Right now,, the Cowboys need a “bruising” RB to control the clock.

    Donna Deal

I think it’s his blocking to save Dak since he is less mobile. Zeke is willing to put his body on the line to save Dak, but it limits the team because Zeke can’t give the team what they need in the running game. If you have no running game, you have to pass but you need blocking. You see the problem?

    E M

@Donna Deal They had McGovern as a FB before, plus how many games does it take the coaching staff, HC, OC, OLC to figure this out and work on getting it resolved? Who is their 3rd string RB? If that RB can pick up the blitz, which I admit is a BIG thing for rookies and something that Zeke excels at, then I would rather have that third-string RB, so that Zeke could rest. Now, with the Cowboys going to play the WFT, now it may be too late, yet if Zeke is still not getting better then I would rather have the 3rd string RB in the game to spot Pollard. We also need more and or better blocking from the TEs, which has not necessarily been a strength of the TE group this year. KM needs to relook at his run scheme. Who is that former Giants HC, wasn’t he an offensive-minded coach? What does he do? Sorry, but from the outside looking in, it would appear that they have the resources to work on getting the issue resolved, but yet, here we are three out of four games that the Cowboys run game has “faltered”.

    Donna Deal

@E M Jerry hints that they are holding something back for the playoffs. My contention is that you better hope you get to the playoffs.

    E M

@Donna Deal I agree! I am not taking anything for granted and I definitely am NOT taking it for granted, regardless of the standings right now, that the Cowboys will win the NFC East. Only when the other NFC East teams are mathematically eliminated from being able to win the NFC East will I give a sigh of relief, but then at that point, I would start “worrying” about the playoffs.

Zamdfw

Can we ask the question, why do some teams with second and third string backups on the o-line still have a good running game?

    Football Philosopher

Scheme… this team depends on talent and not scheme. That’s why we fall apart whenever someone’s. Amari, Tyron Smith etc

    K _____

@Football Philosopher yea Kellen doesn’t care about the run so any reason he has to not do it he won’t do it. His run scheme is ehhhhhh at best

    Chocolatetown Forever

@K _____ His run scheme was second in the league a few weeks ago lol.

While I agree that we probably should have ran outside more last week, to me, the lack of success in the running game lately is because of two things. The promotion of McGovern, and the average play at best from Collins.

    K _____

@Chocolatetown Forever don’t really agree like the previous comment said the talent was carrying that. Zeke was healthy and him plus Pollard was amazing. Zeke being hurt exposes how the scheme isn’t really all that

Leo Alaniz

We must win this Sunday

MK Garrett

Amber was right on Jaylon & she is right on LC.

J G

Of course it’s all on the O line like always even tho they have been a top 5 pass blocking unit all year and graded out around average on run blocking even with multiple injuries, suspensions etc maybe look at the skill guys and the QB playing better

TJ Ellis

Two things about Zeke 1) He has to run sometimes or teams will know you’re passing when he is in there for blitz pickup 2) When the chips were down and they needed a first to ice the game, he got 10yds right up the gut to seal it last week. Still need more Pollard on the edges.

    E M

One ten-yard run does not “cut it”. We need the Zeke of previous years, whereby he was on average getting between 3-5 yards with every carry. Now, for the most part, he is stuffed at the line of scrimmage or only manages to get 1-2 yards.

Tom

Hope DAL coaches have a good read on how good Jabril Cox will be, or not be. Because its going to be a big factor on the next draft. Spend an early pick (2nd/3rd Rd) on another off the ball LB, or focus on another position.

JJ

Nick is underselling Too Tall Jones. He was a great player. Regarding the team they *should* go at least 4-1 down the stretch because they are the best team in the division. The Zona game is a toss up at this point, depending on how the Boys look going into that game. Of course the games are played on the field, but I’d be disappointed if they lose more than one game in these last five.

SlammedZero

Art Vandelay!!! lmao Totally flew under the radar to all of them.

Richard Smith

Too Tall was great. Under-rated.

Joe Casey

I think ever since LVE neck injury he’s not the same; he’s afraid to be the crazy linebacker he was his rookie season. It was a serious neck injury

J Z

“too tall” Jones had 106 career sacks!!

    Serviam

He was a heck of a player!

@Derrick Eagleton it’s ok to be excited about Micah, it’s pretty much written in stone with this dude, pick 6 dreams are going through my head, that might seal it!

Danny Bearden

Agree with anbar most the time because she keeps it simple and states the obvious

Jerry T

After that last falcons touchdown dak got a talking too. And that’s why he hasn’t run since

Andrew Patterson

There has been moments this season on critical 3rd and 4th downs where Dak takes the big shots instead the easy lay up. I just want the drives to continue, take the short under or the easy scramble fpr the first.
