Agreed. But it all makes sense if they have Rodgers lined up.
Surtain is a shutdown corner compared to Sherman, we are talking Talib and Bailey like abilities. Darby is the only corner under contract after the year, both Callahan and Fuller will be gone, this pick made absolute sense. As for Pookie Williams he is a bowling ball tailback, a punisher which Denver has not had in forever, finesse is great but this allows them to play smash-mouth football where it’s easier to pick up a first down on 3rd and 3, it will also help open up play action plays and keep blitz packages respectful.
As for Fields and despite what has been said, did you ever think that the staff might not like him? You do not draft kids you are unsure of or dislike. Just cause fans are high on someone does not mean they are. It was obvious that Denver was hoping Lance fell, because I believe they had a plan to jump up to 6 and get him. It just was not our year to get a FQB, so we give Lock one more year as initially planned and if it falls through trade up in 22.
I love this Broncos draft. I think certain people’s bloodlust for a QB is being overshadowed now by a great draft so far
Agreed, patrick surtain ll was the best and most unquestionable pick in entire draft. Also, our defense won SB 50. With superior pass rush, man coverage.
