None of this matters until we get a qb

    Yomommallama

@xMayola210x I think disagreeing with a pick doesnt make someone an idiot, so if people call you that theyre being unreasonable. Even if someone is wrong, they dont have to be called an idiot. But i do think lock has been given the short end of the stick and many fans have given up too early. And taking one of the 2 remaining qbs would just be trading a project qb with a season under his belt for another project qb that could possibly be better at this moment. I think it was too risky; but we took someone that the broncos knew would be good for the next several years. The broncos team and staff seem to really have faith in lock, and if he doesnt pan out we can re evaluate next year.

That is if we dont get rodgers of course

    xMayola210x

@Yomommallama Id be okay with that answer, if lock had shown anything. But the answer is he hasn’t man. You can’t lead the league in turnovers and miss 3 games. Your right fields is a project and could be a bust. But it doesn’t get any worse then the 34th ranked qb who leads the league in turnovers.

Take fields out of it. Slater and parsons are more helpful now then PS2. That’s a 100% fact. So we’ve gone into free agency with this win now approach. But we’re drafting for the future?

Then you take into the fact of coaches. This is vics shot, if he fails this year he’s likely out the door. So we start all over again next year because let’s be honest man the best we can get with lock and bridge is a first round exit.

Then we have new ownership coming. This entire offseason has been a big mess of everyone walking on eggshells and to many heads in the building.

I can promise you this, we did not draft right. Payton drafted safe to try and stay after the mess. But honestly, we’re going to be bad for 2-3 more years unless we get Rodgers or Watson. And if we don’t Payton wants to ride with lock, then his job rides with him.

This hard nose run the ball and play defense doesn’t work anymore. You need offense to win now and a modern game. Denver keeps trying to do this old school approach and it’s not it. And it likely killed Lock in the first place. I won’t even mention Pat he’s horrible.

    Yomommallama

@xMayola210x I certainly think we need to find some stability in the front office and coaching staff before we really start to thrive. And the old school method we are going for has not been as successful as we would like in the recent years. Though I do think if we can get a gb in the top 15 or maybe even 20 for the NFL we would be a playoff team again.

I agree that by Fangio and Paton going with lock this year is a huge risk for Fangio because he is betting his future as an NFL head coach on the fact that Lock can improve.

You said that you did not see any flashes of promise in Lock this year, but I myself feel like i’ve seen flashes of greatness; and we could debate that all day im sure, but that also is a core disagreement we have here about lock. I hear the team standing up for him, the coaching staff having faith in him (by not taking a qb at 9, they are saying they have faith in him), and that he is putting in a lot of work this offseason. The thing is it is difficult to evaluate QB talent nowadays. If we gave up on Elway at this point we never would’ve won back to back Superbowls. If the Bills gave on up Josh Allen at this point, they wouldn’t have developed a QB that played great this year. And lord knows striking gold with someone like Mahomes happens once maybe every generation, or decade at the least.

I would’ve preferred parsons, but I think the staff had some real issues with his character. Paton has been emphasizing a ton how their picks are good people off the field, while Parsons had many issues raised. Hopefully Browning can come close to how Parsons would play.

    We got one

    xMayola210x

@Yomommallama Those qbs used to be hard to find. But that’s not really the case for the modern game. You had to develop in elways era. Not anymore really because the NFL has moved to a lot of RPO college schemes. The teams winning are really utilizing them. Titans, chiefs, bills, niners, Saints ext ext. adapt or die, the reason lock is failing is really because denver has not adapted.

Burrow, Herbert, Hurts, Murray, Jones, Jackson, Mayfield, Watson, Mahomes all had success rookie years (aka them playing their first season) and put up crazy numbers. That’s because coaches actually adapted and helped them with college reads and schemes. That’s the modern NFL you get at most 2 years if not the coaches didn’t adapt and it’s time to move on.

I imagine it will be the same for at least 3 of the qbs in this draft also. That makes 12 qbs in 4 years. That has never been the rate in the past. But with Meyer and other college coaches coming into the league and changing the rules. That’s going to be a lot more common.

NOW GET RODGERS PLEASE

    ryan denton

If they wanted Rodgers they should’ve made the move b4 the draft… it will cost Denver a lot more at this point. They could’ve at the very least drafted Fields to help with a trade for Rodgers… I’m sure there’s no interest in Bridgewater who at the best will score ONE touchdown per game and get you 7 wins and I’m sure there’s no interest in Lock who will give you more turnovers than touchdowns and 7 wins (missing a few games with an injury) lol…

    Carlos Bono

@ryan denton It’s not about the Broncos wanting rodgers, it’s the packers who won’t return the calls lol If it was up to denver they’d offer the 9 pick in a heartbeat.

    f̶a̶k̶e̶b̶l̶i̶n̶g̶

@ryan denton you’re an idiot, he can’t even be traded until after June 1st

    AlanMtz

@ryan denton And Packers would want a QB why? The whole reason they would move on from Rodgers is because he wants out and they got Jordan Love, point is if Rodgers wants out he will get out, he holds virtually all the cards, Packers gonna hold out for as good a deal as they can get, but if Denver plays this smartly, they’ll contend for the superbowl for the next 4 years and Rodgers knows this

They pick a CB and a RB in the first 2 rounds that both could likely end up 4th on the depth chart 😆🤣 🤦‍♂️ only Denver. The only real need they had going into the draft were at QB (desperately), LB, and OT and they literally figured out a way to fill none of those need 😆😆🤣🤣 this is a hard team to be a fan of these days

    xMayola210x

@kumabear Lmao I love bronco yes men so much. That’s our fan base tho, every draft.

    Broncos base will be:

    Simmons, Jackson
    Derby, Fuller, Callahan
    Jewel or Browning, AJ
    Von, Chubb
    Shelby, Jones

    Now let’s move to nickel
    That’s 5 DBs
In most systems safeties are included in that DB set

    So,

    Simmons, Jackson
    Callahan, Darby, Fuller
    Jewel or browning
    Von and Chubb
    Harris, Purcell, Jones

This guy is 100% right and we still have Ojemudia. Who likely could play more then a rookie.

As for Williams facts are he’s likely third next year. Behind Gordon and Boon.

So this draft is for sure a waste for next year, but could help down the road. Or with injuries. Definitely not what you want with a number 9 pick and trading up into the second. RB is an undervalued position for a reason.

Draft is a solid C+ because the picks outside of the top 2 have been nice. But if Fields balls out, it’s an F no matter if we get the next champ Bailey. We’d trade Chubb for Allen along with 2 firsts right now. Denver fans never learn.

Also with our stacked guards it likely means risner is gone. We won’t pay him with Muti and Meinerz on the roster. In my eyes that sucks, but we do have a lot of players coming up to get paid. Maybe if we took fields and had a qb on a rookie scale for 5 years we could of paid him. Another fail.

Paton bet on lock, and the future. But if lock stinks it up and fields balls then he’s betting on a future he won’t be here for lol.

    Lil_Cobra_Kai 40

@ryan denton not going QB at 9 could mean we are trading for rodgers.

    ryan denton

@Nathan King I doubt he’ll be RB2 this year… you have to realize he has a similar style to Gordon. They’re not going to have 2 of the same backs on the field. They brought Boone over to be a change of pace

    Nathan King

@ryan denton You don’t trade up in the 2nd round for a rb that doesn’t get touches. Starting caliber rbs are regularly drafted anywhere in the first 4 rounds. And Gordon has breakaway speed, Williams does not and is much more physical. Definitely not the same style

Erik Ramos

Let’s go Denver Broncos!! As a true fan, I am excited to see us building a good foundation for an excellent team for years to come!!

Olen Young

The Broncos added tough hard nosed football players on both sides of the ball. This guy is going to be amazing for Denver.

Is there a mandatory course at college that teaches player to say ‘ Yes, Sir’ or is this just forershadowing the relationship btw any future nfl pro and ‘the league’?

    It’s a respect thing

Big C
