@Eian yep. We probably have 5 max spots for rookies this year and next. If you can trade a 2, 3, and 4 to get say 35 and get Joker or Ojulari you do it. Then, if you can trade the other 3 and 4 plus a 6 to get in the 45 range for another player who slides we’ve traded quantity for quality and that’s exactly where the Browns need to be.

In my humble opinion, sell the farm for Ojulari and then the boat for Joker, take 3 picks this year, call it a weekend.

@The Duke idk it might be worth it if we trade a few picks or a couple late rounders and a 2 next year to go up with one of the early picking teams. Its definitely worth it if they like the player since the first and second have the best players. Doing the trade down and keep low end picks play does not work. Look at teams like the Patriots that always “win the draft” by collecting late round talent. These teams are typically horrible at drafting impactful players.

We can’t draft 9 players because the roster is pretty much full. Trade away 7 6 round to trade up in the 2nd round to get LB from Norte dame

@Alex Smith most likely partner may be SF since they gave up so much to get to 3. 59 + 91 + 132 could probably get us to 43 if a guy they graded as a first is still there

@Chad Tucker I hear you and I would agree if we didnt sign clowney and resign sheldon. We already handled the dlinemen now its 2nd level. Personally the db was a wasted pick but it’s done now so let’s just go get that second level solidified with a dude who can cover the entire field, doesnt miss open field tackles, can command a defense, can rush the passer, defend the pass, spy a scrambler, crush anyone over the middle, blow up running backs of all sizes, and take care of te and slots so our db’s can get themselves figured out…because I played safety and alot corner…my guy it’s not about skills because everyone has that at this level it’s about chemistry!

@Chrismo you should get off your soap box. You sound too opinionated for your own good. I’m not sure you’re looking at it objectively. Sounds like you think you should be a GM or something when I’m guessing you’re nowhere near qualified for that job. No offense, but if you maybe had some snaps in high school/college and/or you spend evenings on the Madden sticks, it doesn’t make you better qualified than even the lowest guys in most NFL scouting departments. JOK is a freak, but uber versatile guys more often than not end up mediocre at best. I don’t think he’s a fit when we have JJ3 already playing that star/viper/roamer position. And the Browns also don’t value LB that high. You can disagree with them about that, but know your team. Also, name a 4-2-5 D that ever existed with this much talent and versatility. If we stay healthy we just might look like that 49ers D from 2 years ago that was terrorizing the league…

It’s okay to read an opinion you dont like and say why you dont, but to tell people they shouldn’t have opinions and frame ad hominem arguments as a means to legitimize you opinion as objective is the best signal that you dont have the mental capacity to handle honest discussions. Yeah that was my worry about how they’d gel at first knowing Stefanski was hired before Berry but you can tell they’re close and have a lot of respect for one another and that’s how you know it’ll work, neither attempts to overstep, they work together for the betterment of the organization

They both help Cleveland alot one brought us up the other is trying to bring consistency
