Yes he was wide open.
But, he doesn’t actually look back until he was at about the 1 yard line and by that time it was too late to throw it his way.

Sorry Baldy, mac jones is not an NFL QB and neither is Fields. Fields is an incredible athlete that will help him early in his career. But he is too slow with his reads. First play he threw into that coverage. NFL that is a pick the endzone. While he had a guy wide open in the middle which nobody would have touched going into the endzone. Mac Jones and trevor lawrence then trey lance the other two are sure fire misses.
