Highly unlikely. Zach now needs to be a top 3-5 QB to justify moving on from a good to potentially great (top 8-15) Darnold plus the 4-5 premium picks we could’ve traded back from #2.

@Brian S Darnold was ranked 32nd, he has not played a full season ever, he has objectively regressed this year, and if the jets bring him back and go 8-9 or 7-10 they will have to either decide to pay him or pull a 49ers and trade 3 1st to get a qb Darnold is done

@Ryan Thompson Not to mention the 2022 quarterback class is a far weaker class then what’s available this year given the jets history of always too bad to make the playoffs but not bad enough to get good draft positioning this is a rare year for the jets where they have a high value draft pick Which can be spent on a quarterback

@Josiah McCallister I’ve watched countless breakdowns on Wilson rather than highlights. A lot of his biggest plays are easy picks in the nfl but he got bailed out and a lot of his best plays are plays that don’t even go on the highlights. The casuals are the ones assuming he’s Mormon Mahomes because he go swoosh across the field. He needs a lot of work and should sit a year because he’s built like a toddler and with how late he is on a lot of throws early on will be very susceptible to plays like the one where Sam hurt his shoulder vs the Broncos after staring at the open receiver and not throwing it
It does not make sense, some fans are not happy. I am not happy. We need Fields now. Some fans are very unhappy with this trade.
Me and about 4-5 other die hards I’m close with are devastated.
I count mainly 2 ways to be happy with this as a Jets fan…
1- is to be convinced that Sam is garbage and Zach will definitely be a top 8-12 QB.
2- Sam should be a good QB (top 8-12) in this new offense with adequate coaching and talent, but Zach is a surefire top 3-5 QB.
Otherwise we gave up 4-5 premium picks we could’ve traded back for and kept Sam. No way to be certain on either Zach or Sam so take the premium picks and talented 23 year old QB.

Mine Play, the Jets, never Wanted Justin Fields, they Lock in On Zach Wilson, the White guy, and that’s who they wanted, and it Lets me know, that the Jets, would have never traded for Deshaun Watson, because they didn’t want a Black QB, it all comes, down to Race With the Jets Mine Play, the Jets, are Racist, and so is there Owner who is a Donald Trump Man.

This is nothing to do with race It’s more about who is a better system fit field does fit the shanahan system but not to the extent that Zach Wilson does. Also Joe Douglas was never probably gonna trade for Watson even wasn’t for the scandal because he didn’t want to give up the draft capital hes not a guy who wants to give up draft capital he likes collecting draft capital I guarantee you if Woody Johnson was calling the shots he would definitely wanted Watson because he is all about ticket sales the back page getting the attention of the media

All those Jets fans saying its the right move, would love to watch as Darnold lights up the league for the next 2 decades. It was a stupid move. The Panthers and Darnold are the BIG winners in this trade.

@Parker Williamson He was throwing to a practice squad of WR’s. His numbers were different when he had a couple of decent NFL caliber WR’s to throw to.

Jets ruined Darnold. Never got him help and hired a terrible coach for him. The O-Line was horrendous, they did him a favor by trading him he’s still only 23 he has time to salvage his career

Am leaning towards Justin Fields. Why? He showed me he can handle pressure and still produce. Zach Wilson didn’t have any pressure in college. He played from a clean pocket, wide opened wrs. Mannnn this is up in the air for me.
As a fan I didn’t want to see Sam play in newyork anymore he just wasn’t cutting it .. jets did him justice by sending him to a good up and coming squad with weapons.. Sam is gunna thrive
If the jets gunna take Wilson they are going to have to keep him upright .. they gotta draft offensive line heavy .. I’m just not sold on his durability on this level
