Even though Gronk was retired the Patriots still had the rights to Gronk as an NFL player. The New England Patriots traded Gronkowski and a seventh-round pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2020 draft. It was a good trade for the Bucs.
