BRAIN WARFARE

the fans saying phil caused us to miss the playoffs are the same fans saying to sign him for another year a week ago…

you’d think this fan base would learn not to come to hasty conclusions by now

    Dontno Nowuno

@Cat Man who you want big dawg?this guy put 24 up on number one rated d on the road with vanilla play caller ,no starting tackles, and below average receivers.defense gave up 320 yards and 3 tds in second half ALONE.pipe down if you don’t know 💩

    Cat Man

@Dontno Nowuno Dude, you edited your comment and I still can’t understand you. Write in English, please!!

    Aron

@Cat Man Oh stop Rivers was the best option we had at the time and has proved it.

    Don't SSleep

Not all of us. I give Phil credit when it’s warranted, but I definitely call him out when he deserves it. This isn’t 100% on Phil, but he definitely had a hand in it. Also, I never wanted to re-sign him. He has the mobility of a statue and he’s playing on borrowed time.

    Dontno Nowuno

@Cat Man sorry..let me rephrase that for you.
What q.b.would have been a better option this year sir? Rivers was responsible for twenty four points of offense against the number one rated defense,at Pittsburghs domain all that while he deals with zero creativity directed by a mediocre offensive coordinator. He (the q.b. phillip rivers) was also out there with his second ,third and fourth string offensive tackles(the key personal that protect your q.b.) while playing with young inexperienced receivers or slight older receiver(ty.hilton).so therefore, the question remains, why do you blame the q.b.when his job is to get pts and he did.meanwhile, the defense ,who you have not blamed at all gave up three t.ds and 300 yards…. in less then two quarters.my point being your comment seems silly,or misguided at best.I sincerely hope my “english” was more comprehendible.

andromeda gen

Rivers did the best he could, having to fight against bad officiating and missing his two starting tackles. Loss is not on him and definitely love him as our qb.

    andromeda gen

@O’Gara Family first of all he didn’t throw two pics, and he didn’t have to get sacked five times neither.

    O'Gara Family

@andromeda gen okay , 1 pic and a fumble shouldn’t have throw that ball into coverage like that. Also he should’ve played better better decisions making and why wouldn’t you call for run plays ? Dude Phil is not a clutch qb vs and good teams now we gotta hop the bills don’t sit their players next week or else we aren’t gonna make the playoffs

    Hellz

He’s a good QB colts should be happy to have him. He’s not done yet. He’s a great QB. He’s brought the colts to be 10-6 so good for him. Good luck Phil, from a Steelers fan.

    Don't SSleep

It’s both. Officiating (and coaching) were definitely terrible in the second half, but Rivers was absolutely responsible for his two turnovers.

    Ronnie Mack

@Whitney Williamson I agree, the officials were terrible. There should have been more offensive holding calls against the Colts.

legohunter77

This game is not on Rivers, more on Reich’s play calling, and the defense not showing up in the second half. Castonzo and Smith out was a huge hit for our playoffs chances. Next week Jags might be a trap game, since they already clinched the 1st round pick, so Colts need to play with heart

    Alec Grosk

@I know Sports yeah I think that you guys finally got Ben accurate and it tore us up. But frank reich should have run the ball more. We passed that ball way too much

    I know Sports

@Alec Grosk I can see that…it’s a two edged sword because when we get ran on it’s because we are in our sub package…when we get passed on it’s because we are in our base…so I think that was the game plan for you guys coming in…try to run it when we had 2 d lineman or our nickel corners in and try to pass in our base…we played base mostly second half because we expected run more…field position swung in our favor in the 2nd as well and that makes it tough…colts are a very complete team I understand being frustrated for potentially not being in the playoffs but you guys deserve to be

    Alec Grosk

@I know Sports most likely Cleveland or Miami will lose next week so I think we will still be in the playoffs but yeah your right. We had a good game plan coming in but I feel like there was just too much pressure to have Phillip pass every play. We had both tackles out and we were down to our third string guy at LT. it was very clear that the Steelers offense found they’re stride and their defense locked down

    J Jackson

That missed pi was huge tho

    Don't SSleep

    It was both.

Caleb Smith

Philip had a solid game. It’s really tough

    T S

@O’Gara Family your diction speaks volumes. Stop

    O'Gara Family

@T S my dictation speaks volumes?? Dude I could talk football all day with you I probably know more about players than you lol 😂 please if you wanna talk we can talk

    Ironmurs

He did. Immense pressure, a few bad play calls, and a terrible penalty on a screen pass, as well as non PI calls. Steelers beat us w/ help if the 12th man – the refs.

    Ironmurs

@Don’t SSleep he put the ball up right there for TY – non call on that interference and then he threw a close ball on 4th & 7. To put this loss squarely on Rivs is asinine.

    O'Gara Family

@Ironmurs a terrible pic and fumble our whole offense is sad the day we score at least 35 points every game is the day we will be contenders our offense is not aggressive enough. We should’ve kept running the ball not to mention our defense just took a dump second half this whole team isn’t as good as everyone is saying I’m a colts fan but until we get a better QB and more aggressive play calling we won’t win a chip

Graham Said

As much as i want to blame rivers i need to say that coaching looked weird this game, it was like watching the chargers, we got the lead and stoped being agressive, let’s hope aaron rodgers eats the titans

    Vision Elementz

At least we got that. The raiders lost still makes me irritated tho

bodgaard

By the way, I think the different feel in the second half like they’re protecting something has some merit. I see it here and I’ve seen it watching the Chargers(and other teams) for years. Too many coaches get to a point where the just want to protect a lead by playing more conservatively/safely rather than to continue to go after points.
I’d love to hear some feedback on this point to see if anyone else has noticed this Characteristic….. the characteristic of not going for the jugular when the opportunity is there…..

    Anna Albertelli

I definitely feel that. Especially with games like Houston (or basically every game for the Chargers), it feels like we could have had so many dominating victories but we always stop pressing hard after a strong quarter or two, letting our opponents get back into it. It’s one of the most frustrating things to watch. It almost NEVER works out and is also a main reason why the Steelers lost to the Chargers in 2018. You gotta finish off your prey

    MichaelDemented

Idk if anyone feels this, but I wonder if they stopped with the run game because they didn’t want to hurt the players. Did you see those hard tackles to the knee area of JT?

Erik Munoz

Dear Colts fans, this is not Philip Rivers fault! Last I checked two of your receivers dropped passes on the final drive AGAIN! It’s like Jacksonville all over again! Also, let’s not ignore the offensive line in the second half; Philip might as well had been in San Diego again with that atrocious protection! And don’t get me started on the Colts awful pass defense! I saw it twice against Houston, once against Tennessee and now against the Steelers! Quit using Philip as your scapegoat!

    Cat Man

Rivers throws the pick on first down from midfield on first down. Why? Work the ball down the field, take time off the clock, and walk out with a win. You know why Rivers has never been to a Super Bowl? I’ll answer for you: because Rivers can’t win when he shoves ALL-IN!! That’s why.

    ontop ofit

He’s the qb he will be blamed especially if he throws picks!

    Don't SSleep

It’s partly his fault. He held the ball far too long on that fumble (he knew before the game started the OL was patchwork) and threw another dumb interception. The other part was the second-half coaching was terrible and the refs were god-awful. You can overcome one of those things, but not all three.

    bodgaard

I’m with you Eric. Can’t watch most games live due to where I live but watch the high lights on YouTube and noticed the corners seldom located the ball while it’s in the air. The great corners always seem to trying to make themselves aware of where the ball is…..

    AJ Smith

Simple fix: 1. Have healthy tackles 2. Play action on 1st downs instead of run which is so predictable 3. Don’t be afraid to play call 3 runs in a row with a 3 score lead 4. #31 got exposed and Ben used that to his advantage 5. Just pain from that loss as Colts fans… move on from it and have 1-0 mindset. Saw a lotta good and bad. Let me know what you guys think 🤔

Gregory Cyr

Colts should have stuck to the run game.

    dylan stonack

    You are not wrong

    Bay all day

They was bringing to much pressure to run the ball

Cat Man

Now that JVille has the No. 1 pick in the draft clinched, the Jags would like nothing more than to end the Colts season. And they probably will if Frank’s still coaching next week!!

    Daniel Chavira

No way Jags shut our offense down their defense is the worse in the league

    Vision Elementz

Just cause the colts lost week one when they were a developing team doesn’t mean the jags got the dub. Jags have been trying just not a lot of luck and colts are playing for their playoffs. Plus colts are like better in every stat

ausoi

this game was 100% on the refs, 2 bullcrap PI calls and 1 no call offensive PI.

    Rich Stafford

Bad calls happen in every game. Miami was victim of the worst PI call you will ever see and still made enough plays to win. There are no rules that say a supposed top NFL defense can’t hold a team to a FG after a bad call.

    Ronnie Mack

@Joseph Chandler those calls came because your corners had to grab to keep the Steelers receivers from beating them. Do hold and you won’t get called for it.

    Ronnie Mack

@Neal Graham not to mention one of those missed holding calls came on the long TD pass.

    Joseph Chandler

@TheRedvapor yea but did you see that play go watch it he didnt even do that

    Caleb Curtis

@ANGRY JERRY You’re telling me that that “Illegal block in the back” penalty on the Hines run was legit?? He literary tapped the defender on the back as he was falling to the ground. That was almost certainly going to be a touchdown drive that would have greatly impacted the game. Again, I firmly believe you on most occasions cannot put losses on refs, but this was different. How are you supposed to win if all your big plays get negated due to missed and questionable penalty calls?

Adrian Paco

I’m very sad for this game. I’m a colt fan here in mexico and always Pittsburgh won the games 🙁

ColtAction

This one isn’t on Phil. This is on bad coaching on Frank’s part and with the defense.

    Don't SSleep

Phil was responsible for a chunk of it. Bad coaching? Yeah. Refs suspect? Absolutely.

Bay all day

The second half was pathetic smh…Frank got out coach second half

Kathy Beef ante

Thankyou for a great 1 st half! Steelers won’t win twice to same team. You may meet them in play offs. Your turn in another field

Towelie Towel

“Shoot” Shoot, I’m mad you got kicked out of the Chargers but you’re doing great this season Rivers. Miss watching you play live

Brad Montgomery

RTDB 👀👀👀 what the hell happen to that? Putting to much on 39 year old QB

AJ Smith

Simple fix: 1. Have healthy tackles 2. Play action on 1st downs instead of run which is so predictable 3. Matthew Green

I still feel confident on the playoffs. We can beat jaguars and all we need is either miami,Baltimore, Tennessee, or Cleveland to loose.

Lieutenant Dan

2 starting offensive lineman out and we are playing the best pass rush team in NFL. Sacks = loss of game

Marcellus Martin III

I can’t believe how garbage this team is in the second half, it’s awful. And people actually picked us as the team that could beat KC.
