Why do people keep thinking the jets want trevor we have a good qb but he needs support around him yall make it seem like trevor is the next Peyton manning or tom Brady and going to play like it as a rookie look at what happen to burrow when he didn’t have any support around him
@Emmanuel Lawyer It’s not the point. Yes he could fail but he was your biggest chip to attracting a top coach- which is what this franchise is most desperate for. What top coach is going to want to come to work for an 1-15 team under the Johnsons with Darnold or Fields as the QB. I’ll tell you one thing, there’s not a coach in America that would not want a chance to coach Lawrence in the NFL. And even if you did not want Lawrence, with him there do you have any idea how valuable of a trade chip that number 1 pick is? And this was given up for a completely meangless win mostly by veterans and a coaching staff that wont even be here next year. 0-16, 1-15, doesn’t matter Jets are still considered a laughing stock. Browns recently went 0-16- does anyone care about that now or is everyone celebrating their present success? Jets just lost a highly valuable pick for nothing.
@Steve Rose there are many coaches that want to work with darnold like bill cowher and jim Harbaugh because they knew he was setup to fail
@Emmanuel Lawyer They may have high regard for Darnold, but there are better jobs out there than the Jets and those guys will have their pick. Even if by some miracle you get the coach you want and you don’t want Trevor, the lost trade value of the 1st pick alone was a big loss and this win brought you nothing for the above-mentioned reasons. Personally, at 6-6, with an accurate strong arm, with pocket awareness and speed, it’s more likely then not that TL will be very good although we’ll see. My argument is, even if he does not succeed the 1st pick was still much better than the second as such would get you back probably three first rounders and a player because teams are nuts about this QB coming out.

I meaningless win could impact the future for a decade my issue with sam darnold is 3 plus years a third of the time he can’t stay healthy on the field and then when he is on his big days are 200 yds and a td seriously that will never carry you to a division crown or a playoff spot he says all the right things is a gentleman but his play dont back leadership qualities just a honest observation how many years will it take under a new coach assuming the johnson dimwitts fire gase sambwill be a 10 year vet before we sniff the playoffs betterntonstart ne for him as well as this organization have to get some people in that building that has a clue about football there are pee wee teams that are run better
