He is clueless. Had 2 seasons to improve the run defense, and pass defense, still giving up way too many big plays. The lack of tackling hasn’t improved since last season either.
Probably no smart idea to shake things up so late in the season.
Any new defense coordinator would take time to figure things out.
Could easily cost us the playoff run, if we change crucial personal right now.

If our defense has any shot, pettine needs to have Clark at the nose and rush and keke at the ends. Have Z roaming off the line, rashan coming off the edge. Will finally be able to stop the run and not lose any in the pass rush. Play man with Jaire and Kevin, single high with savage with Amos in the slot. Play to the strength of your players pettine!!

I think he tries to make the defense too complex for the players to comprehend. And unfortunately it’s not executing at all! Zack already asked him to make it a little more simple.
There’s a lot of internet defensive coordinators here, maybe you all should apply next year if so inclined. If you watch the tape, there’s alot of moments where the scheme puts the players in the right spots, they just dont make the plays.
