I mean it’s a hard thing to do seeing what he has for players on the offense. I mean they really only have 2 legit weapons as pass catchers with Parker and Gesicki. I mean Grant right now is are #2 WR when he was 9th on the team last year in rec yards. Then after that the #3 WR is Bowden who is still trying to learn how to play WR. And then on the O-Line you also have 3 rookies which means they have a grand total of 5 rookies starting on the offense. With no real training camp or preseason hard to just open up everything when they might not yet be comfortable with it. Also got to imagine due to having a lack of weapons that they simply just can’t run a decent chunk of the offense. As you have to call plays that fit the skill set of your players. And they have a limited skill set on offense. Which means they have to call only plays that work for the players they have compared to before COVD hit when the team was expected to also have Hurns and Wilson at WR. Then add in the fact that the running game is also very limited 3rd fewest yards in the NFL per game. So that also limits what you can call on offense . I think he opened it up more in this Bengals game which is why Tua dropped back 39 times instead of the usual 25 or so attempts he was having in past games.

Honestly in terms of the Bengals game I was happy with most of the play calling. The only time I had a problem with it was in the redzone with the fact that on one redzone trip he called 3 straight runs and then on another he called 2 straight runs despite them being at like the 8yd line. And then the other problem I had was that 4 of the 5 pass attempts in the redzone were fad routes. Granted one of the calls was good that being the Gesicki TD as that was a clear miss match for Gesicki. But the others I wasn’t a fan of. But before this game Gailey had been very good in the redzone with Tua at QB. Think Miami was 8 of 10 on scoring TD in the redzone before this game with Tua. And one of the redzone trips we failed to score a TD was due to Karras having that very poor snap in the Chargers game. So honestly it’s more like Tua and Gailey were 8 of 9 before this game.
