Give pettine a break he’s trying his hardest but he isn’t the best I agree but what he did with the d this game is great

    Behruz Sayfitdinov

I’m telling you pettine deserves respect because he actually helped the defense a lot

this defense gives up yards, but not points. Pettine is a great coach. u look at the stats: 34 pts from Vikings? all garbage time. 34 pts from Colts? Offense gave up the ball 4 TIMES, not defense’s fault. 38 pts against bucs? 14 pts from turnovers, otherwise gave up 24 pts. this defense gets stops consistently, especially in the 1st quarter, something we didn’t have at all until Pettine came in

    Brett Jones

Quit making excuses like we did for Capers all those years. No one fears our defense and we cant stop the run, PERIOD.

    Trace McSorley

@Brett Jones now we can now that z Smith said stop putting us in coverage because we are line backers

The Shadow

No, not all of the Defense was playing as a whole team when playing against what is arguably the worst Offense in the NFL. The D-Secondary allowed at least 3 pass plays to happen which saw the Eagles receiver as the sole player in the camera’s lens. Those 3 passes revealed a wide-open field for the receiver to catch the passed ball without any contest whatsoever being attempted, much less made by a Packer defender. One of those undefended and contested passes cost the Packers 7 points when the ball thrown by the Eagles Rookie QB was caught in the endzone for a TD. True, the Packer’s D-line made it a horrible day for the Eagles QB with 7 sacks and numerous rushes and tackles, but the Packers’ secondary were mindlessly somewhere else other than mentally in the game for all 4 full quarters. I honestly believe that if it was not for the quickness and excellent play of the D-Line throughout the entire game, which caused the Eagles QB to constantly scramble for his life, the secondary would have given the game away and then would have congratulated the Eagles on playing a fine game. No one expects the Defense to never make a mistake, but 3 wide-open receivers in one game are too many totally blown coverages for a team that has a fair chance at making it all the way to the SB.
