Ravens Are Getting Healthy Just in Time | Ravens Final Drive

The Ravens have gotten several prominent players back off the Reserve/COVID-19 list in recent days and they need them all to make a late-season run.

WIN EVERY SINGLE GAME OR ITS TOO LATE

    Mel Geezy

Even then, I think we have to hope at least one other team such as the Raiders or Dolphins kick the bucket. This is a cold take, but I’ll say it, we were half measures that lost important games.

    Rat Poison

    Yea, they’d need some help.

Don’t forget that 7 teams make the playoffs this year, not 6 as usual. There are 4 non-division-leading teams ahead of the Ravens in the Wild Card: the Browns (9-3), Titans/Colts (both 8-4, Titans leading the South currently due to tiebreakers, but obviously only one is going to win, so the other will be in the Wild Card), Dolphins (8-4), and Raiders (7-5). To make the playoffs, the Ravens just need to finish in 3rd place of those 5 teams. (Let’s be real, the Pats are 6-6 and still have the Dolphins, Rams, and Bills to play, they’re not finishing 10-6 or better.)
Let’s assume the Ravens do win out, they’d be 11-5. Their most difficult remaining game is next week against the Browns, so for argument’s sake, 10-6 would be the worst expected record for this team.
The Ravens still have the Browns to play and can make up a game there. Also, the Browns still have the Steelers to play in Week 17, and even if the division is decided by then (which it may not be), there may still be the possibility of homefield + a bye for the Steelers in play, so that is not necessarily a scrub game for them. They also have the Jets and Giants (both on the road), who, let’s face it, are the Jets and Giants, but the Jets I’m sure do not want 0-16, and the Giants are currently leading their (pitiful) division. Nothing’s out of play. Even at 9-3 currently, can they really do 11-5? We’ll see.

The Colts still have the Raiders and Steelers to play, both on the road, and also the Texans (who knows?). The Titans, meanwhile, have 3 road games remaining, one of which is in Green Bay. Will either of them finish better than 10-6? Will _both_ of them?
Next, the Dolphins. As much as I want to root for a team like that, they still have the Chiefs, Patriots, Raiders, and Bills to play. Will they win _any_ of those games? 10-6 would be an absolute miracle, in my opinion (and a godsend for that franchise, even if missing the playoffs).
And finally, the Raiders. Yes, I just used them as an argument against the Colts and Dolphins, but that also means they have to play the Colts _and_ Dolphins yet. For each of those teams, it’s just one game. For the Raiders, it’s two. They would have to beat _both_ of those teams, AND the Chargers and Broncos to make 11-5. Is that realistic? Should they happen to finish tied with or better than the Ravens, they do (and likely will continue to if both teams are legitimately in the playoff hunt) own the tiebreaker.
I would honestly say it’s much more realistic that, even if the Ravens drop a game and finish 10-6, that they end up being better than at least two of those teams. Obviously, if multiple teams finish in a heap at 10-6 or something, then tiebreakers get complicated, and it’d be hard to project who’d win that at this point. But the Ravens have the biggest advantage right now against the Browns, having already won their first matchup. If they win the 2nd, then it becomes the Browns who are fighting to hold onto a full game lead over the Ravens to avoid losing any shot at the playoffs based on a division tiebreaker. If the Ravens finish 11-5, the Browns would have to finish 12-4. Again, can they do that? Can they even go 11-5?

Yay!!!!

I hope we do go ravens

Danehh

I wouldnt even say just in time. We needed everyone back and healthy for the Steelers game. That game and the Titans loss is a massive detriment for our playoff chances.

    RyuujinLetum

Hopefully these past few games is a wake up call. Also with our Practice squad almost winning i hope that gives them inspiration

    king83

tbh we can win out and if the colts lose 1 more we can punch our way in the playoffs

This is a good chance to get our rhythm just in time to make a run. Let’s get some Ws

Joshua Ajayi

I’m hoping Lamar blows them out in 3 quarters so Trace can get a full 4th quarter.

Also, the ravens coaching staff is the reason the ravens are where they are. If they don’t treat every game like do-or-die, they’ll be on the couch with the fans.

    Tev D.

    Well put!! I agree %

Longtime Ravens fan (since its founding, mean ole colts). You all are fighters and scrapers. Being 1st in the league, the records. Those are nice. But remember our last super bowl we had a injured Ray Lewis and company during the reg season. 10-6 and made the playoffs. Keep the TRUZZ and lets win out. Injuries, losses or anything I’ll always be a Raven.

    Nate The Great

And what happens when weโ€™re a top team? We end up choking just like 2006 and last season๐Ÿ˜‚

Feels like 2012, baby! When a Superbowl caliber team, plagued with injuries early, starts to get healthy just at the perfect time.
