@Discordia 19 It’s just so easy to have recency bias when Chris Simms wore a Kyler jersey, the whole league was dyqrydyng and the announcers, especially Troy Fanboy were telling us the whole game how we were setting Kyler up to be the hero, etc… then to dominate Murray, make him look pedestrian, make the new darling superhero from the week before (DHop) look pedestrian as well… yeah.

Whether or not you want to admit it, the only reason the calls for Ken’s firing sound so loud is that you can hear them now that the ones for Schottie’s firing have quieted down. Y’all always be tryin to fire sumbuddy. Stahhhhpppppppppp.

@neil marsh Our defense is getting better regardless. The pass rush is good if we can sack Kyler 3 times in a single game. That also helps our secondary because the qb’s throws aren’t going to be as accurate while under pressure.

@Adi Sehajpal Kyler came in healthy, took a big hit, and wasn’t the same after. Won’t need a Snuka elbow from Jadeveon to make Carson’s day go bad this time.
We also need to focus on lane assignments on passing downs, good things happen when our linemen can get stats for pass deflections like Jarran Reed did against Kyler. This may not be as apparent over the next few games, but Goff and Rogers, in particular, can be contained better cutting off their low, over the middle routes.

@Adi Sehajpal The effect I think was most apparent was on his mentality. He had just played these guys a couple weeks before and they never laid a glove on him, then suddenly he’s wincing on the sideline. Don’t get me wrong I’m super stoked on our Defense, and jump to its defense when I hear people calling for Norton’s firing. The man covered DeAndre Hopkins with Tre Flowers and he caught 5 of 8 targets.

the downward trend in defense – just a casual observation but 15-17 was the only time Ken wasn’t a part of the staff and that’s when the fall-off seemed to happen in earnest. Plus, for the millionth time this week, this is Pete Carroll’s defense as much as it is Ken’s. Weird how the calls for Ken’s firing heat up as those for Schottie’s firing cool off. Like the 12’s are auditioning for “Horrible Bosses 3.”

Ken was hired on 2018 after same issue with raiders regarding defense. ranking. During 2018-2019 Seahawks defense ranked at 11th place, 2019-2020 Seahawks defense ranked at 22th place, 2020- present Seahawks defense ranked dead last….last place, but have moved up 4 slots from Dallas who is now deadlast the Jets and Jaguars….. So yeah! Statistically Seahawks has had a downward defense trend. As mentioned earlier, same trend when Ken was the defense coordinator for Raiders and was let go after 3 years there.

I get it, but as mentioned ages ago, Lies, Damned Lies, and Statistics. You don’t fire an OC or DC based solely on analytics especially on a team that’s winning 70% of its games. If Ken needed to go the team would rally around the decision, but chemistry matters more than math in this school.

Happy Thanksgiving!!! We will have to agree to disagree….. numbers and statistics tell a business what’s working and what’s not working. You then set goals and meet them. Just like our Seahawk players have to compete for their roles year over year the same should be applied with coaching staff. The status quo doesn’t win super bowls or attract defense talent wanting to be with a team that want to go to the super bowl….not just make it to playoffs. Go Hawks!

@Mr.Roboto Happy Thanksgiving as well. I don’t totally disagree and wouldn’t have been hurt by them firing Ken any more than when they let Jadeveon go lol. But it’s a good thing the team doesn’t follow either of our decisions then because I was all-in on Clowney too.

Unless we run the table and New Orleans loses two games (Broncos/Falcons/Eagles/Chiefs/Vikings/Panthers) we’re a part of Wild Card Weekend. Only one team has a first-round bye, per conference, from now on since they added a 7th playoff team. Seeds are 2nd v 7th, 3rd v 6th, 4th v 5th with 1st given the only bye.
