@Till Schikorski because he’s a ball carrier who’s already being tackled. He’s not a qb looking to pass the ball anymore. You can call every hit on a ball carrier all game because contact to the helmet was made. But he wasn’t defenseless because he had the ball in his hands. Defenseless is when your trying to make a through and not looking at the players and if your trying to make a catch and someone hits you in the head.

@Chase Smith I don’t think you know the rules of football. Defenseless is literally defined as “a runner already in the grasp of a tackler and whose forward progress has been stopped”. And “forcibly hitting the defenseless player’s head or neck area with the helmet, facemask, forearm, or shoulder, even if the initial contact is lower than the player’s neck, and regardless of whether the defensive player also uses his arms to tackle the defenselessplayer by encircling or grasping him” is exactly what happened so it should be a 15 yard penalty, automatic 1st down and possibly an ejection instead of a turnover.
And it was also a helmet to helmet hit: “It is a foul if a player lowers his head to initiate and make contact with his helmet against an opponent” so the refs actually missed 2 fouls on the play.
I don’t know how you can justify the terrible officiating all game and especially on this play

@Till Schikorski it was a good call. How come when he was hit first he didn’t just go down? The defense is supposed to keep hitting till the whistle is blown. And cousins was still up when the safety forced the fumble. When zeke was running the ball he got hit like a 100 times in the helmet. Same with cook every handoff he got when he was tackled contact to the helmet wasn’t called because it is unintended and he’s not defenseless. Same with when cousins was hit the first time now he is a ball carrier and is not defenseless. So him spinning around trying to break the tackle doesn’t get him a free penalty. Also his last name is brady, rodgers, rothlisberger so he doesn’t get free penalties every time he’s hit.

Rodgers isnt a statue… he moves very well and had a faster 40 than mahomes… even if he has lost a step he still moves very well for a qb. Same with Wentz… Wentz is terrible cause he makes dumb decisions, not cause if his athletic ability.

Not denying it was helmet to helmet, but you can see that he launched for cousins mid section but cousins was being brought to the ground by Lawrence which caused it. So it wasn’t like he was trying to nail cousins in the head
