Good receiving on a team usually makes running backs better, since defenses would need to be covering both, thus spreading out the defense.

@The truth is the light! Those were empty calories. Basically like Ryan Fitzpatrick vs the Skins a couple of seasons ago. He turned it over 3 times and put his defense back out there. The least amount of blame you can give Lamar is 50%

Derrick Henry couldn’t have carried the titans like he did with Mariota, Tannehill contributes big time. Some of the best rush games are also because the receivers are scary, which pulls pressure of the RB.

@Vonn Peirsol so why were they 2-4 with mariota then? Don’t try and diminish what tannehill did. If he played the full season he would have had over 30TDs. He had 22 TD- 6 int in just 10 games.
Tannehill rarely makes mistakes he is a nice quarterback glad he got that extension

Lee Deplace Brady had way better stats then tannehill with no weapons at age 40 4000 yards 24 tds 8 interceptions I’m pretty sure Brady had the better season do your research bud
@Rick Net If it’s not hard how is he the first player player to do that all time ? 70%comp and more than 9yds per attempt ? 100 years of NFL and he’s the first to do it. What does Tannehill have to do with Stafford ? Yes Stafford is better than Tannehill but Tannehill had an historic season. Stafford is in Detroit, you know how it goes. Nobody watches Detroit that’s why Golladay is not on the list and also because the Lions are trash whereas the Titans went to the AFC championship game thanks to Henry first then Tannehill. The team wouldn’t have done so well with Mariota.

@Rick Net Allen shouldn’t be in it, and Allen never did what Tannehill did, Allen has terrible numbers throwing the ball deep whereas they drafted to do that, je has a strong arm but is extremly inaccurate especially deep, he’s one of the worst at it.

He wasn’t even particularly bad in Miami the team just sucked around him, now he has good coaches and players to work with.
True he wasn’t bad at all but the lack of success was more so the coaching. Throughout most his career in Miami he had some decent pieces (maybe except at RB and OL) but when you have subpar pieces you have to depend on the coaching and they were trash. Just look at how the coaches he had in Miami are doing now….they still suck where they’re at.
Coaching makes a big difference and that’s why I knew before the season even started that Tannehill would end up taking over for that team. Vrabel is a mastermind in the making and Tannehill would finally get to be used correctly.

Terriyon Aaron you have to be able to realize that he didn’t just “flip a switch” he got better because the passing game got better which opened up more for henry
Mariota wasn’t well equip for the play action pass.
I believe that Mariota can still be a pretty good QB, but the injury to the nerve in his arm and the constant changing of Coaches were a big part of his struggles

Can we just take a moment and talk about how much of a stand up guy Mariota is at the end.
Mariota needed a change, he needs to be in a system that is built around him and has some offensive consistency at the coaching positions. Guy clearly lost his confidence and it showed as the season rolled on.
