49ers CBs Wright, Rogers battling injuries

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The San Francisco 49ers‘ questionable health at cornerback heading into their wild-card game against Aaron Rodgers at frigid Green Bay became even murkier Thursday.

Key backup Eric Wright was listed on the injury report as limited in practice Thursday with a hamstring injury. He was apparently injured during practice.

Rogers was not on the injury report Wednesday.

The 49ers are not required to supply any more information at this point. Coach Jim Harbaugh will likely address the injury Friday.

Wright was expected to be one of the players to replace cornerback Carlos Rogers if Rogers can’t play Sunday. Earlier Thursday, defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said Rogers would try to practice. However, he missed his second straight day of practice with his own hamstring injury.

The team is hopeful he may be able to play. However, hamstring injuries easily aggravate and playing in the bitter cold could further jeopardize both players’ injuries.

If neither player can play Sunday, the team will rely on backups Tarell Brown, Perrish Cox and Darryl Morris alongside right cornerback Tramaine Brock.
