Yeah, that’s what Baltimore needs at #14… a strictly developmental tackle nobody is really high on, and is generally expected to go in the bottom third of the first round… Especially as a depth signing Jeremiah alludes to… Because what else do you draft at #14 than depth, right? What’s for the second round, a punter? 🙂

@YsOSerious … and if Stanley does end up coming back you’re left with a #14 pick that is either a backup or plays an inferior position that is not his natural one…
Sorry, it still doesn’t sound like a wise idea in my book.
(Not to mention that both of our starting corners ended the season on IR – so, corner is a question mark – why not pick a corner like McDuffy at #14? He seems t be a better player than Penning, and he could be much better utilized than Penning even if both Humphrey and Peters come back 100%…)
@bioLarzen I agree with corner but you cannot gamble with Ronnie Stanley’s health like they did last season. The GM even admitted that was a huge mistake. That killed the offensive line and really hurt the offense. Left tackle, edge and corner need to be the top needs plain and simple. If they take Penning he won’t be a back up. Ronnie is making toooo much money to be hurt at the rate he is. Like I said don’t be surprised.
@YsOSerious Well, it all depends on how likely it is that Stanley will have to miss time. Hopefully the FO have good info and can adjust the draft strategy accordingly. If there is considerable chance of him not being 100% by September this will affect our draft next week, of that I’m sure.
(Even then I think Penning would be a colossal reach at #14… maybe if we trade down to ther 20’s…)

Travon Walker had 8 sacks and 65 total tackles in 3 college years. Hutchinson had almost double the sack and around the same amount of tackles this year alone with 14 sacks and 68 tackles

Trevon Walker at 1 would be more egregious than Clelin Ferrel at 4 lol. Kid’s mad overrated.
The kid is not that impactful. It wasn’t until the combine that anyone even considered Walker a top 20 draft pick , now everyone thinks he’s #1 because he can run fast? Lol Amare Barno ran 4.3 and nobody’s claiming him as the top prospect. I compare Walker to Ferrel because of the people they played with. Ferrel played with Dexter Lawrence and Christian Wilkins. Walker played with Wyatt and Davis. Unless Walker goes to a team with some playmakers around him, don’t be surprised if he struggles. I mean, just look at Jadaveon Clowney, top pick in his day, now cant even stay on a team for 2 seasons

Walker isnt overrated. My only issue is hes not the total package YET, to be picked number one overall. If the kid rushed the passer, he might have been, but theres no way in my opinion that hes taken number one overall lol.

@Chocolatetown Forever Neal, ickey and cross are all different.. if you want to really run the ball, ickey is your guy, if you want good pass protection and zone blocking, Cross is your guy.. if you want a wall on passing downs and so so run blocking then Neal is your guy
But with Travon, i agree with you, it’ll be a few years before he truly develops a pass rush.. but he’s a good run stuffer and can play in space if you want to scheme him
