Austin Snyder

Yoooo been waiting for this video to drop! Personally I think he is a great fit for the direction the team is wanting to go. At least gotta give him a shot!

    J - Yi

Me too. If you look at draft grades, Locks is just as good as any of this years qbs. Stoked to see what he can do! πŸ‘

    Austin Snyder

@J – Yi totally agree. Why waste draft capital on a rookie when they filled pretty much every need instead and are sitting locked and loaded with a young QB who has experience in the NFL and has not yet hit his ceiling (we hope).

ItzJosee

im extremely happy with the choice of going with Drew Lock because he has had a different Offensive Coordinator each season which makes it hard for QB to get adjusted

    Higher Learnings

he had the same OC for the past 2 seasons. Not to say that Shurmur was any good….

    Angel Rocha

Lock gonna surprise you all , all lock needs is stability and great coaching.

J - Yi

Love seeing the OC being a part of the breakdown! πŸ’ͺ

    Azboy42

Yeah their only showing the good throws. What about the bad ones.

    Random Comments

@Azboy42 it seems you don’t know what this vid is about

    The Dude

@Azboy42 everyone has bad throws. I’ve seen Russ throw up some doozies the past couple seasons.

Michael Turajlich

I think if they go back to ground and pound game, Drew or Gino will be just fine. Gino really didn’t play that bad when Russ was out. He had good tempo and a few bad breaks were difference in win and loss. If you have the law firm of Carson, Penny and Walker working punishing the D, it will really open up for play action to DK and Tyler. Russ who? πŸ™‚

    Tidal

Fr I do not understand the Geno hate. He came in with little prep and did great, had some rough spots but dude has been a backup for a future HOF QB! I have hope Geno and Lock will do us well, especially after a better OL and a new RB for our offense.

    Brandon

Carson is not coming back it’s gonna take a miracle for him to come back from a spine fusion. Which is why the walker pick was influence even more

    Christian Maas

Saying Russ who in favor of Geno Smith is insane. The guy who got a DUI and freaked out 4 months ago? The guy who cant help but turn the ball over in crucial situations? This is who you’re excited for? Wow

    JoshTRobertson

    @Christian Maas
Definitely feel as if Lock is gonna be the starter

Anna L.

I think he will surprise everyone. πŸ’™πŸ’š

    Mike Turns

He got beat out by Teddy Bridgwater in Denver…what are you expecting?

    Space Cowboy FPV

As a Bronco fan , I can promise you will be surprised…. Enjoy!! LMAOO

    Mike Turns

@Space Cowboy FPV LMAO!!! I’m not gonna be surprised…I know we got a Lemon in Drew LockπŸ€¦πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚

Angus Negrin

Excited to see him as a Seahawk!

dcmasta123

Either Lock will be a BUST for the hawks or will be a good fit & a good run for hopefully the playoffs

    taras gubarik

    Exactly

    MattyIce21

Either way give him a year see what he’s got, if not u guys got 2 1st next year to draft a QB. I feel like Seattle is doing it right. It’s a rebuild, but could always end up being better than you thought.

    J

β€œHe will whether he bad or he will be good”

    Daniel Bailey

Even if he doesn’t do well it wouldn’t be a bust because he was not the purpose of the trade, just insurance and he’ll still serve the purpose of giving us a high pick next year if he plays poorly. I think it’s smart to give it a year to see what we have in Lock. R

    HowlnWolf

A playoff run is a bit of a stretch for the first season without Russ and Bobby, just gotta get back into the game and work around not having them anymore leading each side of the ball

Kyle Lee

In a year that we know we aren’t really contending anyways, to me it’s more of a can’t lose scenario (or win-win if you prefer). Either we see something good/worth building upon in Lock or we get a higher draft pick next year when we will actually look for the future Qb. There’s really no downside, as long as they don’t give up assets/take on a contract like Mayfield, which at this point is unlikely (I’d hope). The team’s not ready to compete for anything, we have a known player in Geno that can get us through the season, and a younger guy in Lock with higher potential that we can see if there’s something there.

As much as I appreciate Wilson and everything he accomplished, at the very least I’m excited to see someone that hasn’t bought into their own hype and is hungry to prove something. We don’t need for either of them to somehow breakout as the franchise Qb because they aren’t on Wilson type contracts or even starter level contracts. We are free to move on if we find a better prospect in next year’s draft. I like where we are at currently with the rebuild.

    Parris Styles

Tried saying that for Denver before the Russell move but Denver fans way to impatient.

    Kyle Lee

@Jakoby If you are commenting at me about Russ, I’m a fully grounded and objective fan, and have made other posts about him specifically elsewhere. I have Wilson’s prime more along the lines of 2015-2019, at least in his time with us thus far. He was underrated while he was playing at an elite level and carrying the offense, and definitely deserved an MVP much less an MVP vote during that time. In the past season and a half though, he’s become highly overrated for devolving into a one-dimensional deep ball thrower, still living on past success as if he were the dynamic playmaker he used to be(not saying he can’t be again in a new system). My point was, in Carroll’s system, there is no value in that currently, as evidenced by the fact we were getting farther away from the goal while getting closer to having to pay him extreme amounts of money. I’d rather not overpay someone that no longer fits the system, especially at the most expensive position just because they believe they are β€œMr. Unlimited”. It makes no sense when at times, he is getting outplayed by backup Qbs and can’t sustain any drives or take over games anymore. Last year it became even more apparent, at least to me, when I no longer had that feeling that we could rally, make a comeback, and Wilson would make the necessary plays to win the game as he’d done so many times in the past. Or the fact that no lead felt safe, though that has more to do with Pete’s ultra-conservative playcalling to run out the clock.

And as I’ve said many times elsewhere as well, I put the majority of the team’s failure on Pete (historically bad defense, rigid/predictable schemes, personnel drafting and trades, etc.) and would have preferred (before this offseason) that we kept Wilson over Pete. But since ownership simply wasn’t going to make that change, trading Wilson was the best option because it just wasn’t working anymore. At least we got a haul back before he walked. I like Wilson, appreciate what he’s done as a player and as a member of the community, would have preferred to keep him if we could get a regime change but that didn’t happen and he simply wasn’t living up to his elite contract let alone the one we would have had to pay to keep him in a year.

Therefore it’ll be nice to see someone that hasn’t gotten paid, that still has to earn their next contract (contract year), especially one that might have some potential in Lock since that’s just a reality of our current situation. I don’t think anyone is saying Lock is going to replace or be even close to Wilson obviously, we have him basically for free for a year/$1.45m. And I’m hoping Wilson has success in Denver, I’ll be watching all the games. I have no disrespect or ill feelings towards him, he simply wasn’t providing the value his contract required under the constraints of a Pete Carroll system, even though his ego has transcended it.

    Stephen Pitell

@TryinToJudgeYoEngineByYoPaintJob I love your optimism, and that scenario is nice, but I want either the Hawks or the Broncos to lose a lot of games. So if the Hawks go to the playoffs the Broncos need to come in last place in their conference. That’s hard to imagine with Wilson heavily invested and possibly renewed drive.

    dethaddr

After we got media blasted for running up the score for blowing 3 teams out of the water by 50 pts or more, Russ turned it into a “How close can we keep it” game, much to the organization’s detriment. Personally, I’m going to be just fine without the antacids this year! I think Lock will do business and if the other team deserves to lose by 50, he won’t care what the media thinks, he’ll just kill a bad team proper. Scores don’t have to be close for a team to say they’re “competing”. They’re all professionals, and if your professional team is that bad, they DESERVE to get thwomped by 50pts!!!! It’s a new team with a new mentality and I like it so far!

    dethaddr

@Jakoby Hey, just to clear some air. Earl was because he didn’t get a deal and while trying hard to look good for free agency he had a bad break and got injured, so yeah see that bitter. Now, if you wanna talk relevance after the game, look no further to MARSHAWN LYNCH…. not only did he come out of retirement to give us hope for a playoff run when our core RBs were injured, but the man is coming back up to Seattle to be part of the Kraken organization because he loves us so much.

If you ask me, Seattle got Ciara’d.I bet she had a bit to do with this, but Russ will never talk! Truthfully, he lost his legs when he met her, I noticed it more than perhaps anyone else. He needed to listen to Burgess Meredith when he told Rocky “WOMEN WEAKEN LEGS”. I hope he does good in Denver, because he brought us our first even SB win. I hope he does bad in Denver because he should’ve called over the top and given the ball away the second time. True leaders eat last. He’d have two rings if he remembered that.

MJ Daniel

Never seen him play, hope they can coach him up, I think there is a chance for the Hawks to be pretty decent

Erick Pando

I was heart broken when the news broke. I’ve slept since then and I’m excited to see Locke get to work!

Lisa Velasquez

SWEET! Welcome home, Locke! GO Hawks πŸ’™ πŸ’š

$mizz

I seriously hope Seattle is able to help Drew Lock unlock all of his potential. He has the ability to be great.

Leo

I was one of the few Broncos fans that supported Drew. I thought he did good his rookie year but feel like the coaching staff slowed his development. He should’ve been the starter over Teddy the whole season. But I hope he balls out in Seattle and can turn his career aroundπŸ΄πŸ“πŸ”’

    Thomas Abraham

I think the majority of Broncos fans supported Drew Lock actually. It was really the coaching staff that didn’t support him.

    Jeffrey Stevens

Bronco fan here I’m very excited to see what drew can do for Seattle

    WINGSofDOMESTICVIOLENCE

@Thomas Abraham broncos fan here, Drew Lock is completely garbage and you guys need to stop being delusional. John Elway can’t draft a QB to save his life so it’s best we got rid of him before wasting more time on Drew.

    Naeole Mcfadden

Broncos fan here too i agree. The coaching slowed his potential. Still young tho

    mfskepta

    @WINGSofDOMESTICVIOLENCE facts

gphillimo

Hopefully Drew gets a fair shot. This man hasn’t had stability at offensive coordinator since high school. 3 different OC in college and 3 more in the pros. Give him a consistent offense that plays to his strengths, and he will thrive

    Higher Learnings

hes had 2 in the pros.. but your point still stands

    Jeffrey Stevens

@Higher Learnings this year will be his third OC

    Higher Learnings

@Jeffrey Stevens oh word, wasnt thinking about this year yet. Thanks

    Jeffrey Stevens

    @Higher Learnings forsure brother

    Stephen Pitell

The Hawks have spent, or invested, a whole lot of draft capital to make sure whoever wins the QB position will be well supplied with protection and with plenty of elite talent to run the ball and catch the ball. Everyone will be elite down to the third WR who we can only hope contributes plenty. But Lock will have familiarity with his TE, and hopefully it’s all clicking and we will only see the good side he has shown so far. This video does not even hint at mistakes or plays that might show what needs work. But in a round about way he points out what he wants. Drop back, set his back foot, and deliver the ball on time.

ThatJames Guy

Can’t wait to see the entire get some work in. Lock has a lot of options to throw to

Parris Styles

Hope he does great for y’all. Two teams I’m excited to watch this year

Stephen Pitell

My second watch of this. I noticed a slight dig at RW when he talks about “standing tall” and delivering the ball in the face of pressure even if they will get hit. I think that was a problem for Wilson. He didn’t see the field in the pocket as well and crumpled rather than throw to a barely visible guy who might be open. I think Baldwin was always frustrated with Wilson not seeing him when he was open – which was always.

Angel Rocha

As a broncos fan we didn’t deserve drew lock, couldn’t develop him, always changing damn coaches. Lock is going to surprise a lot of folks I can’t wait to see him play in Seattle! Don’t believe the media this dude can play

Missael Retana

I really hope Drew goes crazy in Seattle. I really like him here in Denver and wished he had better coaches in his time here. Pat Shurmur definitely held him back.
