2021 Week 16: Seahawks vs. Bears Recap

Corners were playing great until injuries piled up. Reed+Jones were good together. Adams being out doesnt help. Star DEs sounds nice but hard to get. Best (i think) to focus on the O line for now as it will take the longest to develop and help the D stay off the field.

Also yes, Shane has not impressed. Id be happy to keep looking for coordinators.

Fire Shane because the offense looks the same? How about let the offense ACTUALLY run the Waldron book. The offense looks nothing like training camp. No O line manipulation or lateral field play. The book is Pete’s

@Magucci13 Ive seen too many TE sweeps to believe that, but if so.. does an OC without the confidence of the fans or the head coach sound like a long term solution to you? Show me a guy who can handle the job and I bet Pete stays out of his way. The offense has been worse than ever this year and it has Shanes name on it.

@Toxy TE sweeps? What are you talking about? That’s the least of their worries. They can’t get receivers open and everyone knows how they handle their 3rd down situations. I mean come on dude, if they do the same thing year in and year out. Of course teams are gonna get better at shutting them down. It isn’t hard to stop Seattle’s system. You act like it’s a new problem, but the offense has not been stable at it’s core since 2014-15. It’s asanine to think with the pressure rate Russell’s consistently been under and the fact the post season rolls around we’re stuck in this static run attempt we then have to abandon and throw the ball, but that never works since we always adjust too late. I like the adjustments Shane makes, but it seems like the players are underperforming. It’s seemed that way the past 2 games (Rams and bears)

@Magucci13 The run game and O-line have been looking much better over the last 3 games, especially the right side. The problem is our QB who wants to play hero ball cuz his legacy is more important than the team. What Pete has always done well (run+defense) is still working, but Russ and Shane cant seem to create an effective pass game. No check downs, no short or intermediate over the middle. Just quick throws outside the numbers and deep shots. And yes the Gerald Everett sweeps drive me crazy, never saw that before Shane started calling plays and hope I never see it again. If Shane had something else to offer the offense we should have seen it by now. Even if its mostly Petes book we should be seeing some more creative playcalling. Special teams has been less predictable than the offense for shits sake. Im sick of watching Russ panic at the slightest sign of pressure and refuse to take the obvious checkdown, thats not on Pete. Youd think if it was the same plays since 2015 Russ would know where to go or throw it away.
