2014 Fantasy Baseball Early Waiver Adds
Apr 7, 2014

.Here’s a look at some players that are off to fast starts that could be worth a look on your fantasy baseball team..Dustin Ackley, 2B/OF, Seattle Mariners: Ackley is hitting .292 with five runs and six RBI. Ackley has second base and outfield eligibility, which helps his value, particularly in fantasy leagues that allow daily lineup changes..Charlie Blackmon, OF, Colorado Rockies Blackmon is hitting .542 with five runs and six RBI. The Rockies have a crowded outfield so be ready to jump ship if and when he cools..Melky Cabrera, OF, Toronto Blue Jays: Melky has homered in three straight games, putting his ownership on the rise..Chris Colabello, 1B, Minnesota Twins: Colabello is off to a scorching start with 11 RBI. He had six in one game and four in another. He’s also hitting .391. He could be worth a speculative add, just be cautious on who you drop for him..Adeiny Hechavarria, SS, Miami Marlins: Hechavarria is hitting .393 with six runs. He’s hitless in his past nine at-bats, but was moved to leadoff on Sunday. If he can hang onto that slot, he may not be a bad middle infielder option..Adam LaRoche, 1B, Washington Nationals: LaRoche has smacked a couple of home runs with eight RBI already. He’s not sexy, but he’s averaged 25.1 HR and 85.8 RBI in his past eight full seasons..Casey McGehee, 1B, Miami Marlins: McGehee is hitting .375 with 10 RBI. He has struggled the past few seasons, but did hit 23 HRs with 104 RBI back in 2010..Chris Owings, SS, Arizona Diamondbacks: Owings is hitting .367 with four runs and three stolen bases. If you are looking for help in the stolen base category, Owings is a good option..Trevor Plouffe, 3B, Minnesota Twins: Plouffe is hitting .391 with six runs and seven RBI. He hit 14 HRs last year and 24 in 2012. He’s worth a look if you need some pop in a corner infield slot..Carlos Ruiz, C, Philadelphia Phillies:  Ruiz is hitting .235, but he has scored six runs. He has an OBP of .435 so he’s worth considering in leagues that use OBP instead of batting average. He hit .325 with 16 HRs in 2012..
