I was a Giants fan back then, and still am to some degree, but for some reason I don’t have much memory of this game compared to the SB that followed. Major respect to Marshall for never giving up on that play that knocked Montana out of the game. Reasons shows his humble side regarding that fake punt, but he was a tremendous linebacker back then, and underrated.
Not enough recognition to this 90 giants team. They lost there former SB MVP QB Phil Simms in week 15 of the regular season with a broke foot , and Hostetler stepped in and lead the team the rest of the way , ending with a magical SB victory over the favored Bills.
Not many team’s can lose there starting QB , a guy who was leading the NFC in QBR at the time , and continue there SB journey, and win said SB. That 90 giants team was special .
