@James davis kittle isn’t all stats, he’s the best blocking te in the league. Kelce is nowhere near his level in that regard.

@Shawn Christianson Kelce did not play very many games with Chad Henny, Matt Moore, or Chase Daniel. Its a total of about 5 or 6 games😂You’re reaching with those. Kelces has always had solid-elite QBs

@ilovemygf Kelce has not played 3 seasons less. He got drafted in 2013, Kittle in 2017 and had a record with a backup qb for most yards in a season. Kittle is a way better blocker, runs routes better, is faster and can catch the ball just as well if not better. Kittle could easily put up 1000 yards each season if it wasn’t for the fact that 49ers are a run heavy offense

This opinion would’ve been very sound and unified, if there were not other aspects to the Tight End position….Kelce might become the best receiving Tight End, him or Tony Gonzales lay claim to that, in my opinion, i’ll give you that, but Tight End as is in : pass Blocking, run Blocking, running with the ball (full backing sometimes) catching it in the back field, catching slants, catching wheel routes, comebacks, go routes and shedding tackles like it’s nothing, getting double teamed as the offence main threat ? Gronk lays claim to all those.
In the Tempa SuperBowl, the Bucks defense doubled Tyrik Hill, and dared Kelce to win the game ! He was 1on1 the whole game, and had Drops upon drops, Levonte David shut him down ! Mahomes did all he could to get him the ball, where was Kelce then ?
Objectively, without recency bias, and as much as we all hate The Pats, Bill and Brady (hate them but respect the hell out of all of em, and give them credit where credit is due) it’s Gronk, i get the Tom Brady critique, had him all his career, yada yada yards, catches, Qbs for the others etc, but as a player that solidifies and symbolises the position it’s not even close, ask Shanon Sharpe, Tony Gonzales, Ditka or anyone who played the position ! they will tell you Gronk is the GOAT Tight End, he might not be statistically, but he is in playability/versatility and utility….love Kelce, love Kittle, i like the new kid Pitts hope he turns out great, they all make watching football fun for me and i respect them, but one has to have objectivity.
It’s my opinion though, i share it with some players, HOFers, stars and all time greats… respectfully

I should have said GOATED TE I’ll edit. What I meant by Goat is he’s one of the goats but yeah should have put “ A GOATED TE”. My number 1 still is Toney. Guy played with terrible QB’s and put up crazy numbers and played until he was like 38 or 39 crazy!! But number 2 is Gronk for now but if Travis has another great season I think he passes him.
