Free-agent cornerback Zack Bowman will sign with the New York Giants, a source familiar with the situation told ESPN Chicago’s Jeff Dickerson.
Bowman, who visited the Giants on March 24, had 48 tackles and three interceptions last season.
The 29-year-old spent six years with the Bears. His best season was 2009 when he had six picks and 66 tackles.
The Bears are believed to have expressed a desire to bring back Bowman, a six-year veteran.
Bowman, 29, replaced an injured Charles Tillman in the starting lineup for the final seven weeks last season and had two interceptions and a pick-six in a pivotal win over the Cleveland Browns.
